you have good huds, and bad cheezy huds, like the current hud on tce :roll: ,
GHOST RECON's hud is awesome!!

huds give shapes to the game, huds have been in the gaming scene for century's,
and will never be lost in the gaming scene,

why? cause huds are neccessary for a game, in real life you would feel if you are badly wounded, but in the game you cant feel it, so thats what huds are for, to show some info about your current state.


p.s. the bar should only appear when you push the trow button, if you let go the throw button, than it should automaticly dissappear,

I like both ideas... Hud and no Hud, but i got to say huds are a classic.

theres always toggle huds on/off. GRAW's hud looks that way because they are suppose to be integrated nano computers built into the goggles. Kinda liek today's holographic monocles and visors used in fighters and helicopters for weapon sighting devices.

open console

\CG_drawstatus 0

no hud at all ;)


all I really need is the clip counter, the little status dude, and maybe a stance icon.

Funny, I rarely play games with a hud anymore... It just gets in the way of my playing.

I reload when I hear the distinctive clicking noise then either change weapons or attempt to reload in the middle of a firefight.

As for my health. I don't want to know how much I have left because that would take away from my finesse because I would be looking at the bottom of my screen and not where my guns aiming

And for crosshairs... I don't need them because I usually place my shots with the iron sights.

that seems to work for me too. Since I dont look at stats anymore my focus is straight forward into the battle instead of stats. So you can imagine in AA, since i dont know im in the redzone I dont even act any more careful but still doing run and frag. and since I would normallu use the m249, amoo counters dont matter and as soon as im almost out Ill know because the belt will be too short and that is visible.

i look at my stat all the time, cause i like to know how many stamina i have,

and the most importent is my health stat, cause i need to know if i have enough health to battle, if i dont have anough health left, than i will change my combat style, and be more stealth instead of aggressive, so status info's are importent.

I find that ineffective because worrying about it will only cause to make a mistake. instead If I didnt know that current state of health I would continue to focus of the mission instead of running back and finiding cover only to end up being the last man on my team at greater risk of losing hte mission just because I ran back.

thats unrealistic... because when your in a real life war combat situation, badly wounded, i think you would be more aware of whats happening around you, because your wounded and your "physical" and maybe "mental" conditions are in a worst state, so i dont think you would finnish your mission without being aware and careful,

Ofcourse I would take cover if injured but why would I abbandon my team and mission because of it. Chances are in war, if you get hit, is either your "alive and outcold" or dead. By anychance that you get hit in the arms or legs, if you still can defend yourself then defend yourslef, but the situation is, you are injured so that means yourre not really going anywhere.
