It's not that hard to do a good job of keeping clear and functional forums; neither the 'Official' forums or these have that high a post volume...

All you do is have to set some format guidelines, adhere to them, and set some precidents -- take a look at the examples I've offered already...

With over 5600 posts lying around ehre I cant do all that by myself as fast as you wanted. The reason why it looks like Im not doing anything is because as I move posts to their right sections new out of place topics come in and not to mention the 5600+ posts and alot of seriously offtopic posts in every thread. Only a few so far has been cleaned of anything offtopic.

This why I believe an average soldier/counter-terrorist can carry only one rifle at a time. They generaly tell you to carry no more than one-third of your own body weight and plus you also have other stuff on you like kevlar/body armor, flash bangs, smoke grenades, and sometime small frags. However, some soldiers/counter-terrorists are so big and weigh so much that thier bodies can carry two rifles along with the other stuff they are normaly issued. They can be using one rifle while they're pistol(s) and rifle are on thier back. Maybe you can implement a kind of weight system? The heavier your character is, the slower he goes but he can carry more stuff. However, the lighter your character is, the faster he goes, but he can't carry as much stuff as the heavy's.

Thus, in order for you to have a back up rifle you have to choose between it and your grenade sets and additional equiptment. But since these are just counter terrorist teams, they come in and go, they dont really carry much equiptment because they leave as soon as the job is done, most of which takes only a few minutes because these conter terrorist raids are normally heavily planned, so they dont carry as much. Besides, the average gun weights less than 1/5 the weight of a full grown man. If it were a kid , yeah probably he wouldnt be able to carry 2.

Your average Spec. Op. carries a main weapon with 4 extra mags and a side arm with 3 extra mags. And they can carry up to 4 grenades.

Now, if you're planning on attacking an organization other than a terrorist one, say a paramilitary organization (Which could be considered terroristic), then they would carry more ammo.

I think when it comes to objective rounds, you shouldn't need to carry that much ammo. But in matches like Bodycount, you will need to carry more ammo and you think you'll need.

Ofcourse it is all mission dependent. If the resistance is known to be formidable you would bring stronger weapons and more ammo. If it was a minor threat, what use is a frag and a second gun for? but if the enemy was known to be heavily armed, your best approach is to arm yourself heaviliy too. That would mean, lose the small arms, lose the smoke and fb, and stock up with an extra rifle and ammo with a couple more frags.

Yes but at some point it doesn't really become a matter of weight, but more of the size and shape, for instsnce, a kid waying roughly 90 pounds can lift a full 5 gallon bucket, but it's hard to move because of it's size, if you implement it to make a carrying system, it is easy to move, so sure, all the equipment they carry will be heavy, but once it is put on and is put on correctly, it becomes easier to carry, so, if you have 2 rifles, you can put the on your back using a strap, getting out your grenade or whatever you are using, it shouldn't be to hard. Or atleast I don't think it should. I have had some fairly heavy things on and been able to move just fine. Average equipment a Spec Op soldier probably carries is about 80 lbs. They can move just fine with that. Adding a few more with a rifle would not effect them weight wise, more of shape and size wise. So don't think of it as weight, more of it's size and shape. Which in a game, would not matter too much.

STOP RUINING MY MOMENT, geez, I was doing good for a long time and you come in and ruin it with like 11 words, it's not fair, and people were asking about weight and blah blah blah, so I told them the weight of one gun will not matter, it's size and shape will though T_T, duh, moment ruiner >:(

This isn't a heavy infantry game, it's Urban Special Ops -- and in the real world you don't:

· pick up enemy weapons
· swap weapons
· carry multiple or redundant weapons

In deference to realism an Elite Operative or experienced 'Man-Of-War' will virtually never pick up an enemy's weapon to use it -- he doesn't know how it's been maintaned, how it's been sighted in; hell in the real world rifles and even handguns can and have been booby-trapped...

Rarely will an Elite Operative swap weapons or give a weapon to a Squad Member -- weapons setup is very individal and in reality there is virtually never any need.

Carrying multiple primary or backup weapons is also patently ridiculous as far as realism is concerned for a game set in True Combat: Elite's context... It would even be rare for contemporary Heavy Infantry, heavily reveted in defensive on fire positions -- the one place it might actually be realistic.

Please, no bull shit, candy toy, arcade features -- this forum is already literally FLOODED with feature suggestion spam for absolutely absurd features like this that have no bearing on contextual realism, and would offer little, no or a negative impact on game-play...

Hoak, Special Forces are specially trained with any weapon so if they do need to grab one, they can, spec ops are a special forces group, so picking up an enemies weapon in this game is reasonable, as for carying two weapons, if the Army see's it fit, sure, go ahead, some units in the Special Forces actually launch with a secondary rifle, with the Marines, like Scout Snipers, they are given there sniper rifle, and an M16, unlike the Army that gives you your sniper, and then a wimpy M9 for that last resort close combat weapon, so basically everything you said, was just shot out of the water. And when you came along, nothing was off topic, we were discussing the idea of giving the soldier the option to pick up another rifle, which is reasonable to both training, the mission, weight, anything you can think of, if you are in the field, you ran out of ammo, what are you going to do, sit there, and wait for the enemy to kill you, or pick up that AK you saw back there, if you say wait, you should just go sit in a warzone right now. It is possible for you to run out of ammo or lose your weapon, your team was killed, you are the only one left, they do train you for this, you are supposed to place the mission first, should you not be able too, you are then told to return in the best condition you can, if you lost your rifle, or are out of ammo, you then A.find one or B.go to escape and evasion, so in other words, get out of there without being seen. As for swapping weapons, this is a game, not real life, if someone is better with the SPR, give it to them, so they can give you that M4 they had, grenades are accumulated mostly on the Grenadier, but sense there is no specific class or fire team forced class, you are then given basically the same thing, if you don't use that frag, give it to a tema mate that does use it, it will make the mission go more smoothly, and more efficiantly. As for a trap on a weapon, special Forces have also been trained for any kind of trap, or mine, or explosive that can be thought of, also, this is a game, you can't put a trap in your rifle before you die, and most of the terroists we fight today, only carry one rifle, and maybe a grenade loadout, usually just a rifle. The US Military is almost always caught in an ambush or calling the shots, so the enemy does not need to worry about placing traps other than the ambush, if it goes perfectly, the enemy will win, though most times it does not, and the US wins the gun fight. As for these IED's we always here about, they are placed where the enemy is not, so using a careful eye and deviding your attention to them is possible, most they use are simple pipe bombs that have been rigged, or an old mine, usually a little piece of metal sticks out of the ground, some with a little white flag, most with nothing, they are locatable, and not hard to find if the enemy is not near, these aren't used in TC:E, so all your attention is directed up towards the enemy.

Ofcourse nothing beats using something that is yours and has all the addons if any that you brought with you to use. But yeah, in certain situations having an enemy gun with ammo is better than a gun you came with but is empty.
