well, we all know how OBJ currently works: SPECOPS must defend, terror attacks, blah blah. how about having it reverse for a map or two? should be simple to implement (like making axis do something in ET, just needs some work)


also on the table for today


stopwatch? why not have it in for the few people who may enjoy it. or make a way for seervers to switch team every round.

Perhaps. The specops need to destroy enemy weapons stockpiles (multiple targets and all of them "are a must") while terror defends but are less armed because specops does have multiple targets to destroy

Perhaps the multiple targets idea, except they need to be executed in a certain order. You blow a hole into a building, then you must blow up a vault, or something along those lines.

no, actually, I like those kinds of missions they'd be good for both teams. for example: mercs need to rob a bank, SPECOPS find out somehow, and are brought in to stop them. involves OBJ carrying, and explosions.. I'm not sure how the bombs would work. maybe an engineer-type class?

TCE should have followed TC's objective mode...

In TC, depending on the map, there were multiple objectives for both sides. On some, a certain order had to be executed in order to pull off the mission (etc blow up a tractor trailer, pick up a canister from inside of it - open a bay door and then escape through it). Quite fun actually.

One side did get "stuck" defending areas more - but there was usually more variety then "camp and wait".

Did you crop this up to make it look like we were making a conversation? I recall the conversation never went in that order. Anyway, you dont need to keep qouting yourself and everyone else, just post a link.

The thing is, that is too simple. As Diane mentioned, the more complexe objective missions were present in TC, so those would be great.

Actually, there once was a plan to implement multiple objectives and vip-rescue mode (remember that video)? Like so often, TT remains silent about the mysterious disappearance of this mode...

im really curious how the devs are gonna make the vip-rescue mode...

because this game mode does seems to look very diffucult to implent,

i think you'll need a bot for the vip-rescue, and when you stand near the bot, youll see an action icon, when you select the action icon, you'll see a pupup,

it should look something like this:

you can choose between,

"GO TO SAFE ZONE"
or..
"FALLOW ME"

both have their adventages and disavantages..

if you chose "GO TO SAFE ZONE", the bot will automaticly go to the save point... you can like fallow him and guard him,

if you chose "FALLOW ME" than the bot keeps fallowing you,

back on topic:

could stopwatch be put in? I'd like to see races for attempting to finish objs,and it's just as realistic as ABJ is now, all you need to do is 1 life to live, and adapt it for the dem_ or vip_ gamemodes.

I"m sure that the VIP will be human, because afterall, there is only a few lines of bot code, and they are just for listing the old Q3 bot commands in the console.

I do like the campaign-style objectives, they make it feel a lot more like you are in the military.

The logic for VIP mode isnt hard, coding it isnt easy to implement but the idea is simple.

I believe they said that they will utilize dead SpecOps for the VIP, and that if there aren't any, the SpecOps win simply because the Terrorists haven't been doing their job.

Multiple objectives sounds good, but I wonder if it might be too much work for SpecOps if they are restricted to one life.
