one last thing...

i whas looking at the pictures from the news update very attentively,
and this is what i found out:

look at the 3 metal frame hanging on the ceiling,
the 3 metal frame has exactly the same rusty stains, its exactly 3 clone's
this is extremely unrealistic,

damn,, couldnt they rotate or flip it 180 dagrees or something, to make it look different from all the other frames,

damnnn... this is really noticable, extremely conspicious,

i dont mind if there are 4 or 7 objects that look the same,
i dont mind if there are 4 exactly the same posters hanging on the wall,
i dont mind if evry trash bag looks exactly the same,
i dont mind if allot of bushes/plants look the same,

but 3 same materials with exactly the same rusty stains, hanging together,
OMG thats horrible, unapproriate for the game's realism.

I would maybe rotate the texture a bit, but that's just me, and this is the little shit that ends up pushing the release back another year.

im reall curious whats gonna happen if you shoot at the car's tie's

i hope the the tie's are interactive,
i hope the tie's will leak when you shoot at it,
it would be extremely unrealistic if nothing happens,
it would be unrealistic to see bullets not penetrating the rubber tie's.

it means duh like in DUH - its common knowledge that q3 cant do that. Maps are static, even the doors opening in maps is nothing but a fake that just appears to be physics. There is no such thing shooting wheels or tires wich result in dynamic inflation. Not even the newest engines can do such a thing no does it make much sense unless there would be a benefit in wasting so much dev time for something that is basically killing network gaming because its slow and difficult to implement. The current technology is just starting to implement physics at a very basic and faked out level. Dynamics in games is poorly implemented in general, and there is a reason for that. technology isnt ready for that yet. It wont be until the next 3-4 years. There is no reason such a thing will ever be implemented in a q3 type of engine. That is just silly to assume.

that would be unrealistic,

and i cant see why its not possible, if you can shoot and destroy wooden planks, than why is it not possible to shoot the tie's and make it leak?

they just have to add a animation, for each tie than has been shot by a bullet,

lets say that this the car's tie,

cant the devs make the tie look like this when it whas hit by a bullet?

and when a tie is shot, it stay like that the hole time, even when you shoot
at the tie's a couple of times again.

this should be some sort of a pre animation, and it should be used when the tie get shot,

if you cant make the tie's leak when you shoot at it, than IMO they shouldnt use the car models, it will demage the game's realism.

anyways, dont tell me you cant shoot the car's windows either?

seriously. start making your own maps and see if you can implement physics like inflation into the map code. good luck there. Please get familiar with how things work on q3 engines before making rather silly suggestions even tho they themselves might seem ueber realistic and such.

btw: similar to doors, breaking things is just another cheap ass *hack* of the engine wich is in no way anything near the complexity of inflating tires. Remember maps are indeed completely static. All things like moving platforms and doors are in truth poorly implemented engine hacks that dont work properly and dont add up with realistic physics. In fact I dont know any engine that does any network compatible physics right now. If you read my above post carefully you should already know that. Finally even if it would be possible to implement such a feature it would surely not be worth the asymetric effort for the cheap effect of having flat tires. With games like GRAW coming up I'm sure not even that engine is capable of anything like this. At least not with network/multiplayer code running at the same time ;)

windows can be shot and destroyed. bullets pass through all parts of the vehicle except the engine block afaik.
Its impossile to get inside of vehicles and stuff like that also.

Naw TCE is just retro. If you want futuristic stuff there GRAW coming up for PC in a few months.

maybe im too used to play games where evrything is interactive, and not games where you just shoot people and thats it, :roll:

thats something i never would suggest, cause i know the devs arent gonna go to that direction, its not TrueCombat's style,

anyways,

retro and sci-fi can be combined together,

for example, Metal Gear Solid 3, its a story about the cold war in the late 80's. but the game has some sci-fi elements,
and i can tell you that it looks awesome.
