I know that where I live, brick/cinderblock are the norm. though they are often painted, after a good year it wears off. then again, where I live is full of old stuff before metal was produced widely/cheaply/well wnough for the builders.

with those type of textures, they could create more sci-fi architectures
because with metal textures you can really bring that sci-fi feel into the map.

using concrete and metal textures allows you to bring that sci-fi feel into the map,

metal gear 1 and 2 has that real sci fi feel, because they only used concrete and metal textures, and it looked awesome:

here's some examples:

Image,

anyways, i need talk about the plants and bushes again,
i wonder if it improves the gameplay a little...
if the plants/bushes are transparant evrytime you stand infront of them,
farcry and allot of games have done this,

so evrytime you stand infront of the plant/bushes, it automaticly will be more transparent, so you can see a good view infront of you.

this icnreases the stealth factor, because you can hide behind bushes and plants, that would be awesome though, especially if the models are well cammoflouge.

I don't think TCE is supposed to have a sci-fi feel.

maybe, but if the devs added a tiny bit sci-fi feel, it will distinguish this game from all the other modern day combat FPS, like counterstrike for example.

and before you planning to exaggerate things again,
no! I dont mean laser guns and light sable's what i mean with sci-fi

what i mean by sci-fi is a 5 or 10 year boost from the current timeline.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

the cars look damn ugly,
check this out:
Image

its really ugly, the shape is too edgy,
it looks like the devs modeled a square, and just added some texture on evry side of the square,

this one is a bit better:
Image

it look more detailed, and you see some reflection on the car window,
but it still ugly,

the shapes could be more rounder,
the current shapes of the car are like this:
Image

it should be more like this:
Image

and these are old cars, why are the devs using cars from the freaking 80's

i rather see these type of modern day cars:
Image

Image

or... proto type concept cars to give this game a tiny bit sci-fi feel:
Image

Image

Image

way better than those wacky cars from the 80's

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

instead using this kind of crate thats allready used in tactical ops:
Image

they could better use these kind of crates:

Image

these one's will give a little bit sci fi feel:
Image

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

now im gonna talk about the plants again,
because i cant edit the previous post.

this is what i have add:

evrytime you make contact/touch the bush/plant, the bush/plant should move a slight bit, and when you're shooting, the bullets thats hitting the bush/plants, should make the bush/plants also move a slight bit,

this will make things more fair if people using this feature to camp only, player can spot the camper easily, by checking out if the bush/plant is moving a little bit.

now about the ladder:

No shit. Coincidently I know a lot about making realistic cars in 3D environment because thats part of my RL job.
A half assed realistic car modelled in 3D is about 30 - 50 MB in size and uses at least 100.000 polygons+ ( a realistic car is about 200MB in size and uses up several millions of polygons). This is of course way of the mark.
Our models can have a maximum of 2k -3k in polygons wich is already quite a load for the outdated Q3 engine. Its a fact, it just cant handle more.

Also those cars are supposed to be used and ugly. The lower one is a Fiat Panda from 1982. Just look one up on google. It is a beautiful ugly piece of crap

And yea TCE is supposed to have a 80's kinda feel. It always was retro, it will always be. Thats why we use old cars and old buildings and old looking models.

the fiat panda is really modeled well,
Image

but this one:
Image

is just a freaking mess,

the backside of the car looks too edgy and pointy,
i dont see any reflection on the car windows,

it looks like its just a piece of square thingy, with some ugly ass car texture/wall paper glued on evry side,

oh and another thing,

modeling a chair like this is really risky:
Image

it does look really good,
but.. it would be a problem if the players would jump on it,

because if you jump on that kind of chair in reality, the chair would rotate and move automaticly, cause of the gravity,

and since this mod is using an engine with outdated physics,
it would be really unrealistic using that kinda chair in the game.

when you shoot at the chair, it would be awesome if the chair moves,
but this is just impossible, the wet-engine's physcis cant handle it,

unless the devs upgrade the physics or something and make it somehow possible, but im afraid that wont happen,

but the the hole point is, using that kinda chair with wheels. would make, the game unrealistic, because the outdated-engine, with outdated-physics wont allow you to have a interactive chair, that moves, falls, ect. ect.

im really serieus...
it is modeled well, even i dont really like that car,
but im being honest, it is modeled perfect,

compare this car model:
Image

with this car model:
Image

you'll notice that the fiat panda looks more realistic than the second one.
