I'm not 100% sure of this but it feels that you need more damage to kill someone compared to how it was in TC:E. IMO if takes more than 3 body shots to get someone killed with any weapon, it is too much.

I wonder about CQB's next steps. If the alpha stays like this for a longer period of time players might lose interest.

I hope coroner accepts community's help regarding the art assets.

He isn't as close minded in that area as you might think.

One thing in advance, those who want nothing else like wild lean-jump-turn action will never get pleased with any future CQB version.

So THAT'S why there's Free-look! Still, with the turning cap I'm sure ppl will experience difficulties when going around corners xD

Lovely work, Coroner! As somebody who just returned to TC:E, I have to say the CQB looks fantastic! The mod has a lot of appeal and potential to it.

The movement feels right, after all, you don't run like Porsche with a gun in your arms - those who tried it will know what I am talking about.
One suggestion in this regard would be to exclude leaning without weapon aimed as perk.

Customization is great new aspect to the game. Some of it can be slightly changed and polished but it is very nice to have it - i.e. let players decide what matters more to them.

Map is not too big and not too small. It feels like a labyrinth with multiple access points to most locations, which for this type of the game is perfect.
We need more of them, of course, but that will come in time.

Weapon selection is good, weapon skins are gorgeous, and weapon mechanics are very good. Perhaps there could be more guns, but then again, it is still a solid selection.

Now, there are two characteristics of this mod that are giving me grief. One is in regard to single game-mod, which is body-count. I would like to see at least couple more, such as defend and conquer and objective based game-mods. More the better. TC:E has suffered in this department too, and I think it did not help the community to keep interest of players.

Second to be mentioned, yet first on my grief list, is random re-spawn zones. I see where it helps create certain dynamics and unpredictability to the game, but I really don't like to be shot from somebody who spawned beside me and I can't kill before I get killed.

Also, as somebody already mentioned, after "cleaning" specific area just to have foe spawn behind you both sucks and blows.

Despite these last two complaints/suggestions the CQB looks great. I can only imagine amount of work invested in this project, but the result is obviously very positive. Kudos to Coroner for making something like this and letting us enjoy!

O

I'm surprised that there is even this many players still around. Most people I know don't even bother installing this (even they like TC:E), because there is only one map.

Many of you may not realize this, but this is a start of a whole new game mod, new opportunities, and sort of a new community. Lets start this one off on a good note and keep it that way. The more constructive criticism we give, the more changes to make this game rock.

IMO it's an exciting time for old guys like me.

I witnessed each and every mod/release Coroner & Team did from Quake 3 till WET. All this time has brought back so many great memories and I've met so many awesome friends.

I'm so glad that Coroner is back and long live the new TCE!

:P :D

BTW It's coming soon.................

Weapon models look gorgeous, aiming will take some training to hit opponent before they gun you down, i still miss jumping (thats how TCE was played)

the changes explained by coroner go in a nice direction, the current spwam system is the most anoying feature even in 2 vs 2 you spawm behind your enemy now, i noticed that the sprint is damm fast wasnt a bad thing it was like one extra life if you had stamina, lean for everyone yay, i think health regeneration is too fast IMO.

I think there should be NO regeneration at all ! :/
Those red smudges on whole screen ..are really discouraging and awful.

I believe no one on this forum like this new feature in CQB. Right ? :D

I don't really like it, it should be redone, but it works (better than having almost nothing happen like in TC:E); see my post on the wishlist.

I like the base idea (blood splatter), but maybe it would be even better if you would get some kind of "tunnel vision" - black periphery with small retained central portion of screen. (just an idea)
