those are all good items, but maybe we need something that doeas more stuff. but for the mean time, a simple gps system and mission objective receiver (maybe for those who want, the chat messages and other messages can be viewed only via this pda) and other stuff.

that way we can ignore all senseless noobie trash talking about how they got killed and chat only when we wanted to. As for votes and important server messages from admins, the device should give a beep.

you can think exactly the way i think,

i also whas thinking about A beep,

but A ring sound would not be bad tho...

than it would look something like this

evrytime you received A message from one of the devs,
A small icon picture will appear on the left corner above the screen.

and for each dev, there should be different icon picture.
like when we receive A message from Diane.
You see A tough/cute looking female on the icon picture,

it would be really artful, and it will make it look cool,
and i dont mind if the icon pictures are 2d graphics,
it would even make TCE unique,

p.s. the picture icons could be A bit smaller in the game tho...

uhuh... but in the case of the engine, we could use something like a camera (like cellphone cameras) part of the thing (PDA). In JediKnight2, there are some levels with live cameras around right. maybe we could use things like these for OBJ/DEM maps (perhaps making more larger maps with tons of useable stuff that you can use the PDA with).

the camera, well yes. Its used in some maps on America's Army, you can view the cameras from a console somewhere in the game I think. Its just eyecandy, just for laughs and stuff. click the msn button below to get my email add.

there should be A sort of A security room on some maps...
that has tv screens that shows all the camera's in some rooms.

thats really A eye-candy tho...

but would it be possible with the ET engine?

its been done in ETF as a builadably sentry gun with a camera that the engineer can watch from anywhere.

basicly the compass thats usually on the right corner above your screen,
is gonna be placed in the middle of the screen if this feature is ever gonna be implented,

just example,
your using your main weopon, and decided to check out your compass,
you will see short animation that you're switching from you're
main weopon, to your compass,
same like when you witch from your're main weopon, to your nade,
the difference is, the nade is an 'compass equipment"
and when you're holding you're compass,
the compass thats usually on the right corner above your screen,
will appear on your display of your compass device,
the diffrence is, you see some colors in it.

and like i said before, its also cool if devs made the compass your menu too,

why do you have to put the menu there and who in this year uses a compass in situations like that. The gps idea was good enough, but going back to lowtech devices, you kinda took the term compass to literall, anyways, its purpose (the game's hud compass) isnt to tell you where north is but to show you where the objective is. SO, a portable gps system like you emntioned before is better.
