If PB kicked you for OS Priviledges, it has NOTHING to do with third party stuff...
It's just because you entered the game as PB is activating ONLY when you join the server for real at event GAME_CLIENT_BEGIN (not during download).

About iron sight it can be because of a weapon pack indeed.
No need to reinstall, just remove the last .pk3 who could be responsible.
Unexperimented server admins can do "shit" of course.
Some add an "autoexec.cfg" in the root of the .pk3 which will change some parameters, i think it was the case for you.
Recently I went on a W:ET server which had a .pk3 contening one, and it was changing my rate to 45000 (and other stuff), for your windowed mode it comes surely from here too.
About .dll files, normally they aren't downloaded (unless they are in a .pk3 file), btw it could be a huge problem of security if it was the case.
And as TC:E isn't open source, it's hard to rebuild it with malicious stuff inside (but not impossible).
See more inside your etmain than in tcetest for such defects.

About Vista, most of the time, you have to start the game as Administrator in XP SP2/SP3 mode to solve the problem.
"Inadequate OS Priviledges" is self explainatory message.
It could happend with any game!

The ignorance of noObs isn't a reason to forbid the others to have the choice about their servers.
On the net, you have malicious scripts, phishing, activeX, trojans and others...
Should we return to the old good web with static pages, forbidding any stuff as flash, java or javascript just because some ignorants went on a porn/warez site and caught a virus ?

In any case of problem, this forum exists, and some in other languages for non-english speakers (I'm french and I'm used to help noObs on the french community forum).

Yes os privileedge started to apear when i inserted dll file into a tctest folder, its because dll file and dll causes the iron sight thing too i trust a shit about ak47 servers (as much as a word of crack whore promising she will never sell herself for stuff)

I once played at heroes server and it was nice i didnt have problem there so i request somekind of quality check

I bet that those ak47 dll files were not desinged/updated for vista

Quality check f1 :D

Btw there was many different cfg and dll files to mess everything up and at somepoint whole crap didnt work because there was a dozen shits and many files were just too samekind of named so i didnt regonize original and shit

I shall be the first in comitea

You "inserted" .dll files in your tcetest directory?
They are part of the installation!

- cgame_mp_x86.dll
- ui_mp_x86.dll
- qagame_mp_x86.dll

They are respectively the client, the interface and server parts of the mod!

Maybe you "inserted" old .dll or your installation was shitty, but if you didn't had your .dll files before...
Unless you are running an unpriviledged user under vista and your directory tcetest contains only the downloaded files...

The AK-47 server is clean!

It is just because of modification of some files which are used by default by the game when it loads.

The only "bad thing" about AK-47 servers: they use z_ak47_*.pk3 files...
As they are starting with z_a, they are alphabetically "on the top of the chain" even when you don't go on their servers, you still see their logo...

Well, it can be solved easily, it's just needed to do a "~.pk3" containing ã copy of the default files from the game!
It can't replace a clean installation, as any ressource could be overwritten because of alphabetic order, but it could help already.
Or if you have space to waste, why not to do a "~.pk3" containing all the pak0 to pk4 ?
(See my post here)

But don't accuse clean modded servers of SUCH A QUALITY (gmScriptMod, Dutchfix and antiskill) to contain a malware.
And when you "bet that those ak47 dll files were not desinged/updated for vista", they are the SAME .dll files as in the rest of the game for everyone!

Learn about how files are loaded by the game, only the ones present on the server are taken in account, unless you are server in the same time (that's why sometimes when you replay a .dm84, you don't have the same weapon than during the game).

Sort your folder by reverse date and see which .pk3 are responsible of a problem.
The only "legit .pk3 files" are:
pak0.pk3 to pak3.pk3 (TC:E 0.49)
pak4.pk3 (TC:E 0.49b)
mp_bin.pk3 (Updated with TC:E 0.49b)

But keep the .dll files as they are the engines of the mod...

Hey i dont wanna fight but with inserting i ment that i have now cleared directory and i have separated all those dll files (moded) and i have tested with them different combinations and even freshly downloaded most current version of them

If you have vista/windows 7 and those files work for you i believe im truly wrong but so far i only believe what i have experienced

I dont mean that its mallware
Maybe its not just comtabtibility with something i have ? I cant figure out what it may have

But indeed some weapons example are unwelcome because they unbalance the game and are ugly and buggy so thoes are not quality stuff, but ofcourse i understand it may be the first creation of that developer or its in alpha/beta test stage

But well somekind of file registerity where you can rate those files or notify there is a server with new files and those are inclueded in the list. People could tell about problems and experiences at this place and it would make things little easier i say

I dont wanna check every site of every author to even know something about them

Little more organized third party file system and everything will be open

Btw one thing too what made me negative againts ak47 massa was that when i visited on their site i had extremely weird experience i had virus attack in 10 seconds my norman security catch up 6 troijans and afterwards it detected 2 more that passed my firewall and past two weeks i found 1 more (names were *I need a large hot beef injection ♡* like cry troijan, innocent, suspicious)
I dont blame that those were by ak47 community i think they just had poor security/some one very *I need a large hot beef injection ♡* person was uploading them

Well im done with this thing
=something little more organized than before like list of discovered files

Punkbuster is known to be reported regularly as "false positive" by many antiviruses.
Google "punkbuster antivrus" and recently on the SeF Clan site.

By the way, technically, PB is a trojan: it is a backdoor in your computer allowind to scan your files, your memomry and to do screenshots...
It IS a trojan.

The fact they are "detected" doesn't mean you have a virus.
Or maybe you have caught from some other stuff/addons.
Never ever use suspicious material directly on your computer, I'm always advicing to use Sandboxie as a minimum to protect your system from any malware.
And for more "dangerous" things (keygens, downloaded programs) use a Virtualbox.
Anyway better to avoid dangerous/untrusted programs ;)

If you can, do screenshots of these alerts and take note of the name of the viruses, it could help everyone (or even better, logs).
PunkbusterB.exe accesses regularly the net, maybe it's it which was detected, or maybe some other malwares already on your computer, but coming from the server I have doubts.

Next time you have suspicious .pk3/.dll, please keep them and upload them for analyses (megaupload/rapidshare/others) or at least publish their date, size and MD5 checksum.

Third party stuff and especially resources (weapon/sounds/maps) are NOT DANGEROUS.
Only .dll/.so could be, but give some proofs (or clues at least).

P.S.: I have nothing against Norman, but have you tried the same servers with another antivirus ?

I have gave punkbuster free hands :D

But i mean i was at a47massa home site at internet and this troijans were named crytroijan, suspicious, innocent, small troijan... I dont remember any other names

But i want to clear that these are mallware because i didnt start any download or didnt use any files they started download into my computer with force

Not any of the dll/pk3 files have mallware but i mean if i start own server with ak47 dlls iron sight will be messed if i play on another server with ak47 paks AND dll i got kicked because os priviledges

I have heard mallware bytes is a good virus/mallware skanner so i might try that one :D my friend had avast on his computer it didnt find anything but mallware bytes founded 3 (FYI He uses torrent)

But anyone ? What about this rate and comment file system ?

depends on who is rating and commenting, tbh i dont give a shit what random idiots think as they dont have a clue anyway, so for me only my own ratings (or the ones of people i know) are important. but ye its a possibility. you could just extend the map depot we currently have (has a rating system too).

and for your problem, get rid of this shitty scanner norman(or maybe norton?), antivir is already enough if u arent a moron when it comes to suspicious files. disable user account control and rightclick on tce shortcut->properties-->[x] run as admin. this will get rid of the o/s priviledge kick. tce didnt cause any of ur problems, most problems are coming from the user anyway^^

Cool third party thing solved then thats ok for me
Norman is not shitty scanner D: its commercial antivirus that i have had for 1.5 years and detected about every virus (i think because now i havent got a virus detections or weird things happened or even a slowups) its medium quality, light sized (wont slow pc a shit :D) and cheap
Nope norman wont cause these things because:
I have gave tce free hands so norman wont care about tce
I have gave punkbuster too a free hands and in every other game punkbuster works flawless and in tce every other server works exept ak47

Its a comptability thing believe me

Another suggestion for Coroner:

Free/clear the content of hunkmegs/soundmegs/zonemegs when a client disconnects or changes of server.
It would avoid to keep third party stuff in memory.
Otherwise already "in cache" resources like sounds stay and are used in the new server... ;)

look. if people wanna host their third party crap in TCE/CQB, than they should just mod their own mod, instead of putting it in TCE:CQB, and let people voluntarily download their third party crap, so the official mod wont in affected,
the game wont be dead if their is no third party content, like is said there are allot of free games that doesnt have third party content and its way more populair than TCE,

once again... im done,

Coroner, I'd urge you to be proactive; CQB being a WET mod -- your work will in turn be modded regardless of your design intentions, desires and methods to prevent it...

A logo system similar to the one employed by DICE and others Developers can go a long way to giving a particular server the 'official stamp' that it's rolling with both content, and game-play settings sanctioned as your design intention.

The system can be as simple as 1/0 where one setting is 'Official' and the other is 'Modded Content & Settings', but of course more resolution and even mod comments are possible... This system could also give you an opportunity to vet work as 'Official' you felt was both congruent enough with your design intention and of high enough quality.

Regardless, I hope that 'g_hardcore' isn't, a u-turn away from your interest in my original suggestion for my 'g_realism' suggestion years ago that will be some sort of bizarre Quake Rocket Arena nightmare mode thing...

:?

Of course, i hope it will be deployed by default in another directory than "tcetest" to avoid the cataclysm that happened at the moment 0.49 went out...
Even if we can rename the directory by ourself, as there is no convention between servers it would create a lot of duplicate content download...

@Dragonathan:
You have to understand everyone is free to do third-party content servers.
To create too...
Everyone has the right to go on third-party content servers as they have the right to go on official servers...

If it is still annoying you, I can suggest you to check my post
[HOW-TO] Not to get (too much) affected by third-party stuff.

And why not YOU to do your own mod limited?

I suggest to mount the servers of TCE:CQB in two different directories/fs_game:
-tcecqb_official for the clean/official one, with sv_official and sv_pure on
-tcecqb for the the others (official+third-party) who aren't so much fanatic

TC:E his a game with a community, to be able to customize servers is its main force...
If you want to be member of a community, you HAVE TO accept its rules and usages...
If you don't want to accept the rules, free to you to leave it.

yes i too love third party development since whole true combat is just 3rd party for enemy territory but only in larger scale

it would be someway stupid to not allow it idealy but how its usualy done in other mods its way more limited  i think this is too one thing why true combat is to some more than a mod. its a MOD being moded how ironic is that

Actually, TC:E (the engine only) is a mod of W:ET.
Third-party content for "modded servers" aren't a modification, as it is about change of resources only, and not about to build a different executable...
It is a customisation, a bit like when you change your wallpaper in Windows: it is still Windows...
And for the ones who want an official server only, use a Master Server Browser and check for the rule "sv_official 1" (or look at the server properties inside game before to connect)...
As simple as that.

yes but arent total conversions mods that convert fully the whole game and you convert things ?
ofcourse you may code new things but aswell i may code new program for windows tune it look like 98 or something  if there is different it have to be small as hair

and btw people who play w:et and dont know exatly what third party content means they think its something whats done for a game and is not offical so you got the point ? for others tc:e is just third party but for me inclueding others tc:e is more like independece game because it mod that can be slightly modded (example urban terror developers restrict every change but if i have one small test like gun skin i may test it on my private server)

TC:E is a total conversion mod.
It means the physics, gameplay, story and a lot of points are different from the original.
You really need the etmain directory, not only because of the engine, but because a lot of ressources are taken from W:ET, like the player models (.mdm for example).
Try to remove the .pk3 from etmain and "enjoy" :P
No characters in console is one of the first things you'll notice.
And of course before to put a .pk3 "in production" on a server, admins/third-party creators test them on a test server.
The problem comes from servers which don't have the same .pk3 as them: theirs can replace the "default" ressources.
Once again it is a little detail, it can be fixed easily by doing a special .pk3 in your tcetest directory and exiting the game before to join another server.
