@Coroner, will you renew the terrorist models/skins? because they look horrible, imo they should dress more like soldiers instead of civilians,

As I understood Coroner, you can have as many nades as desgn points, but you wont have any abilities or attachments.

If the free-look feature was meant to be used for gestures, it would be a lot easier for the players, if the some gestures(animations, movements) would be simply bonded to quick-chat.

Example.: I press V, 4, then 1 (key for "Yes"), i hear my voice chat, meanwhile the other players see as I nod.
Other example: I say:"enemy spotted" and the other players see as i point with my hand on the enemy... somehow like in Brothers in Arms

If not... well... a 16:9, 26' display is far too small. Normal human's full horizontal view angle(FOV) is 90-130°. About 30° is the FOV that you see with the "yellow spot" (focus point of eye). In real life if i look away to the right, I won't see much on the left, BUT I will certainly notice movement.
If look away in cqb, I won't see shit on the other side and certainly get shot down :)

So if you ask me, free-look is either unnecessary or a "incomplete" feature.

MW2, being one of the worst games ever made, is an bad example to start building a new game around. I just hope that the new cod will be better, and people soon forget the whole pile of garbage, and maybe CQB will be focusing more on gameplay and funfactor, than useless features, copied from subpar games, like freelook.

You know... i was recently playing on AlterIW.Net. There are small things, that they corrected from CoD4.
Example: in CoD4 you often couldn't see shit cause of the muzzle fire. Assault rifles have now less recoil. Sniper aim-bug is fixed (could never hit without holding breath). Jumping, then landing won't slow you down that much...

But then again, there are things they corrected the wrong way... fatally.
Example: Instead of making the lean movement faster OR let the player sprint w/o having to wait to restore from lean, they simply removed it.
Other: servers, maps are crap, blah blah...

MW2 is good, but the things they f*cked up, were fatal changes... making the game bad in overall.

And remember: Black Ops is by Treyarch, not IW...

Every good thing they added from CoD4 could have been included in a patch, or even DLC-style as they seem to like it these days.

The rest, the choppers and all, I would much rather they left it out the game. The CoD serie is an infantry-based game, vehicules can not be intergrated in such a game.


And about Black Ops, I am very hopeful. Treyarch historically has been a good company, and CoD5 was a failure because they were rushed by Activision to release very fast in order not to hinder MW2's success. The basis of cod5 was absolutely awesome.

well this is arguable... their games havent really been any good imo (cod3 fail and spiderman,...). but lets see what they are capable of with enough time for gamedevelopment (they had enough time to learn from IW :lol: )
imo IW still > treyarch (even if blackops wont fail, overall iw wins^^)

They are still owned by Activision and the next CoD will still suck just for this reason. They've made it very clear that they don't give a crap about the players as long as they buy their glorified mission packs and let's not forget, Stimulus pack was a hit sale on Steam even though it's just a modest map pack. For 14 Euros! There's no need for Activision to change their policies.

How are these actual improvements? I'm playing CoD4 and I don't find the recoil problematic or exaggerated. The same goes for recovering speed after a fall.

MW2 actually had some great improvements:
1) The netcode - Running an 8 player server on 1Mbps connection, no lag - hundreds of interactive objects.
2) The performance - in my case it runs much smoother than CoD4, with better looking graphics
3) The content - weapons, maps, perks

Sadly, the game has too many weak points, the biggest being IwNET instead of dedicated servers, but one thing I can't stand is...

Prestige.

I mean, the fact that you're grinding through 70 levels and extended bull***t from CoD4 like "get 150 kills" switched to 500, 1000 and more... Then a "challenge" for every weapon attachment,...

One prestige level alone would be a pointless grindfest but they added 10...

The campaign was short but special operations gives extended SP gameplay.

The main problem of MW2 is the damm lack of dedicated servers, It's like a lottery playing MP sometimes the host is horrible and LAG runs wild, sometimes the host leaves and there is no reconnections, sometimes you have to idle too much while waiting to find a match. Thy made so much money so why not release a dedicated server executable and reconcile with the playerbase. After buying MW2 i bought COD4 MW1, i rarely buy games maybe I am geting old :)

About the prstige thing i didnt care at all when I reached level 70 and i ddint want to play again to get unlocks again, some unlocks requires drastic changes of gamming style and take too long (like shooting enemy trough walls using pentration to get more ammo mags)!

I think this is gettin off topic. Lets all get back on topic of suggestions and ideas for CQB. COD4 Series could help out in what not to do but that is a different environment game so lets leave that to a different topic or even a different forum.

@coroner: Could you give a little bit more detail on how the new bone structure will work better than the hitboxes. I'm familiar with rigging skeletons along with skin binding under maya 2008. Are you referring to that in your blog: "The whole bone stuff follows the animations and bending..." A few benefits of using this system regarding to taking fire or shooting at someone else VS. the older hitbox system. Pro's/Con's?
