Okay so I'd been away from TrueCombat and WolfET for quite a while, still had an old version of WolfET on my system but my system registry had no pointers to it, lost long ago after reinstalling my OS.
I downloaded the 2.60 patch but it failed to find my WolfET folder, error message that it wasn't found etc.
So I figure I have to download WolfET 2.60 full, no big deal head over to Fileplanet, find 2.60 and install it.
Also downloaded the .49 version of TC.
Installed it just fine, or so I thought. After reading on the forums people talking about "letterbox" and "weapon sway", none of the things I had in my version, I was also thinking that there wasn't any of the HDR effects either but thought maybe I just didn't have something setup right.
Turns out that the version labeled 2.60 on Fileplanet is actually 2.55 and if you run the .49 TC installer it somehow detects that old version of WolfET and installs .48 instead (no message or anything, just installs away).
Maybe this is an unknown "feature" of the .49 install but if it isn't maybe a pop-up message in future installs could be used to notify the user that your version of WolfET is out of date or something.
