A small coment about the making snipers harder to use, the only way I can think to make the snipers harder is zeroing in your sights, they alreay move too much, an average person can hold that crosshair a lot steadier. Or atleast I can :? Maybe you guys have some nasty arthuritus or something :P

I dont have to hold it stead, the trick there is I nudge it into where I expect the scope's scross to move. After so many times using the sniper rifle, you should have memorized the way it sways. I just let it sawy into my target's face, but ofcourse with a little help from moving the mouse.

Here's my idea to improve sniping realism (Because Dragon always talks about realism)...

When sniping, if you're standing, the reticule should move around a lot and blow back should cause your reticule to bounce up a lot. If crouching, it should be easier and not as bad as standing. When you go prone, you should have to option of putting a support down (The name of it just slipped my mind) to make your shots more steady and accurate.

Also, if you were running to a position and layed down to take a shot, your reticule would be bouncy because you're out of breath making balance difficult. Or if you got shot and you're wounded, your reticule will be a little bit off because of the pain you're in.

These are just some idea's to help promote Dragon's thread. Just because I'm a nice guy. <_<

Unless your into frontline photography, a tripod wont have any good uses for you. 8)

lol, a tripod would be good for a browning 50 caliber, but there are a few snipers that use tripods, like the MSG-90 uses a very simple one, http://www.world.guns.ru/sniper/sn27-e.htm very nice gun too, it's sort of related to the PSG-1. I would love ot see this gun in the game, but it's already been decided I take it.

if I need a browning 50cal to get a triod, I'm damn well getting one!

*makes fuel dump TC:E compatable*

j/k

bpods may work, but they should
1) provide great accuracy
and
2) take a while to set up/take down, and only be deployed when prone.

but normally tripods would be for heavier guns. Tripoda are cumbersome to have on weapons like the m249 and other sniper rifles because they need to be more mobile. 50cal doesnt need to be moved much and obviously noone will carry it from place to palce, they normally mount it on a vehicle. For mounting, a tripod would make alot of sense.

Yeah well omg, it's not like every machine gunner gets handed a HUMVEE just so they can put there .50 on. T_T and besides, sometimes they are needed in smaller places, somewhere a Tank or Humvee can't go.

Thats where the 30 cal lmgs come in. the m249 is perfect for that purpose. AA2.7 will come with a drivable humvee with a remote operated 50 cal machine gun AKA the CROW.

I'd rather have a walking laser gun. sit back at home, and guide it through the streets.
*goes to bathroom*

WDF? JIMMY! DON'T HIT THAT BUTTON

Although it would be good for TCE to has access to suppressive weapons which would only be useful when deployed and supported with a bipod.

and I reccomend long-ish deployment times, sand only able to be fired when deployed. stops MG runners like in ET (ppl who are half-decent with MG42's, that run around killing randomly)

Well, you really cant run with an mg42 in ready stance, that thing isnt really that easy to carry jsut by the dreaded size of the thing, that is why they carry those things by shoulder not by the arm ready to shoot.
