Hey guys, I was wondering how the System Specs would go up for the next realese of TC:E.

I have been playing this game for quite some time now, and always checked the forums and the site for news on this mod. The screenshots of the release to be made soon look absolutely stunning!!, but Im really not sure of the increase of demand of system specs. I currently have:
-Intel Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz
-1.0 Gb of RAM
-ATI Radeon 9550 (128Mb)

I can run all maps well (except Hideout) with a generous 40~50 FPS.

How much of that is going to change for the next realease?

Thanks in advance

if I"m not mistaken, it'll be fine.

if my grappy intel pentium4HT with built-in craphics can handle this version, you sure as hell can handle the next.

not this lowend game or any lowend Quake3 based games made by id Software. Those guys really remember the people who still have crappy systems and make their games more compatible to older systems.

well, im running TCE on my "GeForce 4MX 4000 128mb" on full 100% details and settings at 1024x768. Im not so sure about that certain model of ATI cards but it should work since my card would be equivalent to Radeon 7/8 series of ATI cards. You should have no problems running it. First of all, you could still expect some lagg on high ping servers. TCE code is not fully optimized so expect some minor lagg when you join into any server. Although that might not be too noticeable with your amount of ram

xbox=teh suckage.

360's are known to turn off at random times (like my old computer) have games never load (like my old comuter) and have lag in SP (like my old computer) thank god I have this pile of crap, beats the hell out of the old one.

I'd only get an xbox360 for the g-card, then I'd shove it in my PC :twisted:

too bad the vcard in the xbox360, tho it may sound like the same thing in the pc, it requires you to make your own drivers to eb able to use it in the pc, and I doubt that you can even take it out and fit it into the pc as technically, it was built with the console's motherboard as with the rest of the internal devices.

The release date is as random as our posting so we're in the boundries of being on topic. :)

hey, if someone can ever get creative with the ps3, I heard it has linux support. Maybe someone could create a console based mod sometime, that has never seemed to have been done before, but maybe these new consoles will enable us to. Being more like pc instead of just gaming machines, it's systems is less likely to have any of the hardware limitations of pcs. Every console game has the same system requirements and we dont need to bother about tech support or anything. Thats one of the only good things I like about console, no system requirements. Maybe we'll see modding come to consoles anytime soon, when that happens, thats when im getting a console.

Back to the system requirements. Since there is that lagg that you sometimes get after just joining a server, maybe it would be a good idea to have a foreword regarding that so that no newplayer will have to ask about it when they get that symptom. They have the right/best system to play TCE, but they might get turned down because of that, thinking that TCE is good for their system. Not just that, include also the rest of TCE's various technicall problems like the internal browser, it does work you just have to wait long enough. This note should come with a manual that is installed after TCE is installed. I can make one for TT, a PDF manual, my problem is I dont have Adobe Pagemaker.
