Hello to all of those special individuals that have followed me through the different maps and lessons since June 2004. I've halted for the moment, while i've found gainful employment and I plan to start up again in earnest after the final release of TCE is out.

My current project is a split level map trying to lower the fps while creating the illusion of a large surface area. Each level will be connected via a ramp to the lower/upper level, each level will be only as wide as a two lane road plus one building width, on either side. There are right angles to each level so that sniping isn't much of an issue from either level, except to shoot into the street. I don't know if it will work out, but it's fun to prove or disprove the theory the more hull surfaces you build in line of sight, from the player position will improve the fps

So far, I feel that my maps generally fun to play, but have low fps rates from 20-75 on my system. I would like to know from others if they too have experienced this as well.

Yeah, fps is a big problem on one of your maps. I think it's called "Hell's harbor".

Try a new one called "The Dish" filename WED. So far the fps is about double of any of the others.

Well if this thread is still live, I've now moved from TCE to BF1942 to CSS and now COD4. You can find me and my buds at www. mhxclan.com.

Cheers

Its nice to see that you are still around. Could you - by any chance - come over to tce.net and get some more live into the mapping section? :)

Wow, I googled my clan name and found this old posting from this year.

I'm alive and well, but mapping on COD4 now, still using Machinehead as my base of operations.
