Agent 47 goes big screen http://www.movieweb.com/news/63/18763.php

Personally I think the actor looks to young to be agent 47.

What are your predictions on this movie?

--I think itll flop big time.

The question isn't weather or not it'll flop, it's HOW BAD will it flop?

Will it be Doom the movie bad, or BloodRayne bad?

Any takers? :?

From what I've seen, it'll flop for sure, but like muska said, how bad is the question. I think the answer to that will lie with the critics. If it gets good reviews, it might have a chance, but it's not going to be a blockbuster.

Dual hardballers look good in the game but in any movie as soon as a character starts to weid two of those and runs around jumoing out of gun fire that is when it starts to look like a John woo clone. Besides the actor looks nothing like 47 - he looks to skinny and wimpy to be 47.

I do wonder what the Halo movie would look like. and with the Warcraft and Diablo movies. Warcraft as a movie would be good if they stick with animation but from the looks of it they want to make it live action - and from past experience with Warcraft, it wont look good as live action as it cant be taken seriously. Diablo might have a chance but tehy have to make it a horror/suspence movie not an action movie. If its with game turning into movies, people turn them into action movies too much - look at AvP and Resident Evil - major flop as they are suppose to be suspence/thriller not action that barely even counts for the violence and gore seen in the game.

Its these directors ruining the image of the games.

It will be interesting to see how this movie turns out... I'm sure it's a low budget film, most of these types of films are.

But, as Xeno said, they're ruining the image of this game.

There are no love interests, no explosions that kill multiple SWAT personnel, no *i-need-a-broader-vocab* duking it all out with two Silverballer handguns. Whoever came up with the storyline has either A.) Never played any game in the Hitman series or B.) Got the idea as to how the movie was to be played out after snorting a line of crack and watching a bad Hollywood Action/Drama movie or C.) Gone too far with the series itself.

I'm a frequent visitor of the Hitman Forum's. As a matter of fact, those were the forums I most frequently posted in before coming here to these ones.

And all I can say is... Damn...

Well he still looks a little bit like 47; I find that it depends on witch camera angle you look at in the trailer… Anyway before anyone starts complaining I think we should all watch the movie first and see for all selves. And by the way the trailer isn’t that bad except for the missing hard ballers of course, but like xeno said it would be too dumb in a movie to have two of those in your hands…

Anyway I find that this is the best trailer of a movie based on a game that I saw up to date… I don’t know why, but it got my interest and I’m a big hitman fan so if the critics say if it sucks or not, I’m definitely seeing it anyway, after that Il be able to say if it was a flop of success…

But I got the feeling that this movie is going to be on hell of an action flick that we didn’t see in a long time … And if my memory is good because I didn’t play the previous hitman games in a long time ( well I passed blood money, but I’m talking about the older version like codename 47 and hitman silent assassin), the story seams to be more respected( from what I saw in the trailer) then in previous movies based on games that I’ve seen…

Just because games are titlted towards action as games doesnt give these directors th right to turn them into mindless akimbo gunslinging madness.

Hitman as a game can be played in two different ways, the regular FPS rambo way or the silent assassin way. Hitman should be more of a psychological thriller with gritty storylines not fast paced jumping off a balcony with two guns.

If you like the game, then you will focus on the bad parts and the stuff that doesn't quite fit. If you never played the game then it will end up as a mediocre movie. This is what happens to most video game movies. It's not that they suck, the people who played the game get upset over things that don't fit into the game. However, the people who don't know about it will think it was just another average movie. This happens with most spin offs and sequels, people set there expectations to high and focus on the negative.

Think Jurassic Park 3 and Xenosaga 2. They both blew compared to their predecessors, but they were not really bad.

I dont really have a problem with these movies no matter how crappy they are with thier mind numbing explosions etc etc.

However these directors should just stop making freakin remakes, games to film, comic books to film, and novels to film when all they ever do with them is turn them into lame action movies. Especially with the likeness of AvP. The comic book and games were great, the movie just stunk with its PG13 rating and action movie likeness, all it was missing was Chuck Norris and the rest delta force.

If you take a look back in the past, a lot of American movies are like this with their untouchable, almost immortal, gunslinging gun-ho heroes. These heroes arent being portrayed as the flawed human beings they are instead they are turned into undying demigods on a rampage.

What makes a good movie is an actual plot that in the end leaves you with something more memorable than edge of your seat pee in your pants jaw dropping visual effects of blood bullets and bootie.

Look at Casino Royale, they returned to the way James Bond should really be like, gritty, dirty, and dark like anything that has to do with spies. Every other bond movie in recent time was a scifi technological pun of cheap playboy jokes.

So if they are going to make a movie out of a game, it better not look like a mutiplayer game with one pro and 31 noobs but instead create a convincing plot which really defines each character, thier purpose, and how it all ties together. With the case of Hitman, he is suppose to be a silent undectable assassin who is also a human and makes mistakes from time to time not Chow Yun Fat running around shooting the M249 with only one hand and still manged to heatshot 6 guys while jumping all over the place (Stranglehold, John Woo)

--------------------------------

Plus my biggest issue on Hitman, the actor looks nothing like 47.

I think we're wandering off topic a bit. We're talking about the Hitman movie in general, not about other game-to-movie, novel-to-movie, comic-to-movie, etc... That's another argument for another time and place...

Some of you should go here and see what the real Hitman fan community has to say about the movie. You'll find information in the sections listed as the Important Topics...

It's quite interesting reading some of the replies. For some think the movie's going to be great, some have their doubts, and the rest think it's going to bomb.

If anything, I don't think the movie will be a complete disappointment seeing that there are those who are backing the movie as if it were some Godsend roll of film. XD

I think that the only real problem the movie will have is with the hype. If it was another movie, it would probably do reasonably well, but because of the hype more people are going to think it sucks, spread the word, and it bombs. I'm interested in seeing it, though.

Well see in a few weeks what it turns out to be. Spreading the word simply wont matter but ofcourse it would be great mindless action to those who can only understand mindless action.

All Action movies have to have a action-packed teaser/trailer. Or else, most of your action addicts would give the movie a raised eyebrow not even considering seeing it.

I find Action Movie trailers, teasers more often, being deceptive as to how the movie is really set up. Just because there are explosions, short clips of 47 about to bust some caps with his Hardballers doesn't necessarily mean the movie will contain "mindless action."

The Casino Royale teaser and trailer both contained bits of intense action scenes. But the movie was passive at most, the most intense action scene being at the poker table, imo... lol...

Though I doubt the Hitman movie will be nothing in comparison to Casino Royale, I still think there's a chance the movie will do fairly well. If it does, maybe the money made with this, most likely, low budget film can bring to life a better sequel... But then again, I'm speaking in 'what if' perspectives. :P

Well we should see in a while. However most action movies do turn out the way their trailers show them. Also not everythnig that involves gunfire is an action movie entirely as nearly all movies nowadays has gunfire or some kind.
