it's an RTCW thing. it can be done (see noquarter) and I think it would be nice, but I'm not sure how much of the code actually exists...

If not kicking...Breaching a door with a shotgun would be pretty badass. Im sure that would be a pain to do tho.

The door breacher idea has come up more than enough times, and each time thrown down, so I doubt it will ever happen. As for kicking the door down, why not just open it, it provides cover from one side when you enter, and it is more simple, not like trying to kick down some metal chunks off concrete is easy anyway.

yeah, you do have a point, and I don't think it would be a good idea to bash a door down when your tring to be quit and tactical. Although maybe if there were locked doors, that could only be opened by breaching them or with a lock pick HAHA :lol: . Just a thought.

Imagine kicking a door and your leg goes though it and will not come out....

Enemy on other side of door shoots at your leg until you bleed to death...hehe

remember kids, aim for the femoral artery.

I kinda like the RTCW door thing, you kick, it opens quicly. good for when you're trying to escape something, or have had your cover blown.

Problem is TCE never had a situation wher eyou need to suddenly breach a door in a hurry. TCE is turning out to be alot more like CS. AA on the other hand has missions that may call for certain use of breachers. For TCE to make sense with door breaching weapons and features, it has to litterally be turned into a game pretty much like R6 or Ghost Recon. Currently TCE is an ultra fast paced shooter featuring ironsights, exploitmaps, lamers, and spawncamping.

So basically, with the current set of missions and the plat style of the people, breachers are of no use. Normally those would be for stealth and tactical games not run and gun games. (and by run and gun I mean you can literally run, stop and shoot almost instantaneously, you cant do that in R6 or AA both of which are slow past but still quick and decisive nonetheless.)

The one FPS I can't stand is CS, I really don't wan't TCE turn into CS. I do respect CS because it paved the way for some FPS.

It paved three ways actually... one is the modern tactical first person shooter, the other is the more common arcade multiplayer shooters, and the last but definitely the biggest impact in gaming history it the spawn of the most no0bishly lame and cheap cheating punk players of the entire gaming industy's history. I am not attack CS the game nor its players, but I am attack the players I just mentioned.

The only way TCE wont turn into CS is to actually completely remove the ultra faced pace run and gun rambo tactics and drastically pull realism up so high that TCE would actualy compare to AA's strict gameplay. If TCE is not to turn into the next mod turned retail game but filled with jerks for players, we the past existing TCE community must at all costs with the devs maintain TCE's realism factor and fairness of play while keeping it fun but still tacticaly realistic.

Now discussing the feature of door kicking.. we currently have no use for that because the missions/gametypes arent made with objectives that have any use for a quick escape or entry that needs you to breach a door in anyway. So far right now TCE still shows the traces of Quake3's arcadish background but it is heading into the direction of the tactical shooters genre.

I think all doors should be locked, and that a recon should have to pick them.
