OK there has been major changes to the map, making it uniformed to the rest of the popular TCE maps. Not too big, but plenty of action.

Anyway, I think this version will get way more action. Considering the engine's limits, I think we did a pretty good job on this map. We had to take a lot of models out unfortunately. As usual, please give plenty of feedback for this may be the final unless you voice your opinions.

I wanted to give a big thanks to Damien & Merlin1991 for all their help, and of course Groove Six Studios/TeamTerminator for an awesome mod.

Please give as much feedback as possible. I really appreciate your time as well.

yea, there is only one "L" that is why you got the error.

PM is more practical here.

I have a few buddies that may offer to put it on their server for testing.

We shall see. And when I've packed it up in a PK3. I will start distributing it to you and all the testers.

Thanks!

Thanks Eppe!

I thought it only fair to update everyone that the reason Ship has not been released is because I'm having issues with r_speeds.

If a willing knowledgeable participant would like to help out in this area, the community and I would deeply appreciate it.

I've never hinted for open type maps before, so this creates quite a challenge.

Hopefully someone out there can help. Maybe a Dev from TeamTerminator?

Thank you,

Stealth

Some time has passed since my last post here. For those who do not visit stealthzone.net, I wanted to inform you that Damien has graciously taken the ship map and has optimized it.

Coroner gave a bit of advice but it was over my head. I'm sure if he got his hands on the map, the community would be able to play it on any antique laptop.

Anyway, Damien has done the following to the map:

Change list:

-removed the automatic generation of portals every x game units
-hinting done
-added a lightgrid brush so dynamic lighting doesn't get generated where it isn't needed
-_lightmapscale is changed from 2 to 0.75 for a sharper lightmap
-reworked some models, textures and shaders
-optimized some clip brushes, especially those which used patches (bad idea for collision detection)

Damien did his part so it's up to me to do the rest.

Things that need to be done:

-add clip brushes so the player can't fall into the water and everywhere you feel they're needed
-add wood clip brushes to the cable rolls
-add surfaceparm noclimb to the metal clip shader (make a copy of the shader so it doesn't clash with the default TC:E one) so doors can't be climbed on
-add the team spawns and other entities needed for TC:E gameplay
-build the map with an optimized TC:E compatible script
-render the tracemap

Reminds me CoD 4 map :P And also one that was made for TC 1.x for Quake 3. *Googles a bit* Found it! http://fragator.pagesperso-orange.fr/tc_tanker.htm
Fragator made quite cool maps for TC, they weren't very realistic or something like that, but it was fun playing them.
Great work on the map, just might want to give the ship a bit more shape, for now it quite much looks like a big boat.

This is a remake of CoD4's Wetwork Ship. Not an exact replica. Traditionally I prefer not to mimic other works. However, I've always wanted to make a ship map. I considered it somewhat of a challenge for myself to be a little more creative then the original design. Such as access to the upper levels and lower level access from the bow.

You don't get to see much of the outer boat shape in game so additional work and tris might not be worth it.

Looking forward to the release!

Whoops, missed this one
Still, it looks quite good, want to give a little shot!
