Hi!

I've had some free time last month and decided to port one of my favourite q3tc 1.2 maps (ctc_skirmish made by mr. Liquid) to tce 0.49b.
What I've made is - retextured almost all surfaces with brand new high-res textures, redesigned some narrow parts (I'm still not happy with some areas) and made the botroutes.
The map is nearly finished - all that it needs is some bugfixes, a few new textures, bomb and flagsites and last but not least a few test-runs with real players.

Test version will be ready this month.
cheers

Nice, can't wait to play it!

What's the average texture resolution and how does it affect the .pk3 size?

Also, if you need a tester, PM me. :D

Pack size is 60Mb. I have 2 or three unused textures in the pack (but still need three new ones so I can't make it much smaller).

The average texture resolution is 1024x1024 and 1024x2048 (which is a minimum for 1680x1050 and higher screen resolutions) and the texture scale (radiant) is 0.0625

I'll send you the map tomorrow morning, I'm in a hurry now.
Bok!

Great map and great textures.

I just wanted to post an example of new textures (brick wall on the left) vs old. Click the image for a larger version:

Makes a huge difference.

Thanks!

Anyway.. I think that the old, low quality green brick texture really goes well with that part of map, but unfortunately I can't find any decent base image on cgtextures.com for new one..

Maybe you could use this (click for the .png):

You might need to tweak it to your liking, less saturation would be a good start.

If you want to I can take some pictures of different textures. Unedited though.

Please! I'll then post the seamless textures here. (so that they will be accessible to others as well)

Of what do you wish to have textures? Brick walls? wooden walls?

I've ported two of my glass materials from c43uw. I'm going to use one of them on obj_skirmish.

I'm going too look for those kind of brickwalls here in the city ^^. It's a small city so I'm not sure if I will find it, but I will try. Do you want them in jpg or RAW format?

Wasn't Skirmish a night map? I just can remember it was much darker, please make it like the original!

Thanks for your work, I always love to see those old maps in TC:E. Could you port tc_industrial and tc_cc2 next then? ;)
