I know a guy that can do a lot stuff, but he's just as hard to contact as you.

What you can do on your own is converting some TC:E/CQB models into CE3, they should be working and even playable right away.

Level design in CE3 is easy, though you always feel like you're making another Far Cry(eg. an island). With a good model repository you can make levels in no time, and it's even more awesome when you use sketchup - it's really just a matter of 10-20 minutes to have a fully instance-able bottle up and running.

And remember, though CE3 is mostly advantageous, you have two big disadvantages - linux/mac compatibility and the fact that everything is real-time/dynamic makes it unplayable on lower-end computers even when preserving the same graphics as in TC:E/CQB.

Also finding a team for CE3 redesign in the community is no problem. And remember, TC/TC:E/CQB is quite a standard in gamers eyes. One for being very complete in every matter and polished in every way, two for prolonged and never finished releases. With today's tools, you can remove the second, well, stereotype.

Looks like the ioQuake3 guys are now working on ioDoom3 -- and while this may offer up another inpressive iteration of a mature engine and tools like so many other suggestions; it will still leave a project like TC or CQB cold as far as costly assets assets like animation.
