actually it dont have to be in the middle, as long the gun points at exactly 12 o clock instead of 9 o clock, i mean real humans are able to aim at exactly 12 o clock, unless it someone whos disabled who cant move his arms straight forward, if you were a soldier in war and if you bout to kill an enemy thats straight infront of you, i dont think you would hold your gun crooked"9 0 clock"
you would hold your gun forward, straight forward 12 o clock,

so guys... this is even better and more realistic,
it dont even have to be neccessary in the middle, but as long the gun points exactly at 12 o clock, but the devs have to adjust the crosshair position too

example:

check the crosshair and the gun position,

now what i mean i this:

so the gun dont have to be in the middle as long the gun aims at 12 o clock, and... the crosshair should be in the gun tube's hole,

so instead of this:

it should be more like this:

I think that’s a bad idea, it would just make it easier for new players and eventually no one would use the iron sights, maybe sometimes but now a lot. The game is perfect as it is (I’m talking about the aim and stuff). The only big issue I saw with 0.49 wasn’t the aiming but the maps. I don’t know if guys noticed but some maps have lighting problems. I saw light come out of the side of the floor in the wall is stadtrand and in some other map that I forgot the name. But you’re right about one thing for sure dragon… 0.49 needs more weapons :P

Are you just suggesting that the gun must be placed in the middle to aid hipshots?

He could have just said so instead of going through all that.

if you want the gun in the middle, use the irons. otherwise, learn to estimate. load up a local server, and fire off a few mags (or, better yet, open TC:E, and type in the console /devmap (map of your choice, just remember the obj_ before the name) and do /giveall and try out all the weaps.

I just use the gun more centered setting, it still gives me a really good idea of where I should hipshoot.

that's always been on for me. TBH, it doesn't make that much difference to me, probably because it looks like the CoD crouching placement, and the regular is the standing (and I still get headshots with both.)

but its realism, if your 1 meter infront of your enemy you should be able to hit your enemy very easily "even if your not a trained soldier",

so the fact is that your trying to avoid realism,
it seems youd prefer fake unrealistic and inaccurate shooting,

Although it already is really easy to own people without aiming expecially at point blank, turns our that many people cant tell the center apart from an inch away from center on thier monitors. That is why it seems to be hard, plus they are not judging the recoil adjustments just because they cant see the crosshair to notice the recoil moving the center.

but serieus. you have to get used to this hole idea,
but trust me what i suggested will improve the game allot, and its also more realistic,

well in some way yes, although one problem with having the barrel right at the center, the RL representation of that would be the gun being at neck level if you take into account that what you see in the game is whay your avatar's eyes can see. Therefore having the gun that close is already aiming down the barrel of a gun. Instead I think you mean the scharacter stance should turn to the side a bit so that the gun points directly in the middle at the expense of movement speed. So three aim stances.. hip, center, and ironsights. Hip would be the hardest to aim but lets you runa nd sprint faster. Iron sgiht would slow you down alot and lower your FOV. Centered would let you aim at 12oclock with minor precision, slow you down a bit because of posture, but not totaly decrease your FOV.

I never have any problem killing people with out iron sights. As a matter-o-fact I can kill people at mid-range with out iron sights. When you fire without iron sights the gun still fires in a predictable cone. Try playing a few maps with out iron sights, and you will find that it isn't that difficult, once you get used to it, to kill some one at even mid range. However, this only applies to some weapos, I wouldn't try it with somthing like an m16, sniper rifle, or a mp5sd (I just hate the mp5sd).

Thats what I use the MP5SD for. No iron sights, just hipshooting from mid to CQB.

I just don't like the mp5sd. reminds me of a BB gun, so I don't use it at all.
