in most games the trees and bushes grasses look extremely ugly, cause modeling tree's is complex and difficult,

well this program is the solution:

it still look ugly,
i mean look at the leaves:
Image
you see that its so undetailed, i dont see the leaves connecting with any twigs, and it looks like damn spinach.

this is how real trees/leaves/bushes should look like:

That is true for the tree's displayed!
But that is how you would make a better tree/brush
is having great transparency through the density of the
tree or brush. :)

Alien codec looks like it can solve the issue, but if you read carefully below... "May not be used in shared or open source projects" In this case TCE is a mod for a free game and as with every mod, they are shared files.

The plants in TCE and WET are good however, when you go too close to them, they start to go bad because of one key missing engine feature. Depth of Field. With DoF, once you go prone in a bush, the bush blurs out allowing you to see the environment around you without the bush texture itself preventing you from seeing.

i like this, cause in reality when your in war situation hiding behind a bush,
and plan to look whats infront of you... you would push the leaves and twigs on the side so you have a better view, but we all know thats impossible in a game, thats why i think is better to make the bushes transparent/blurr when your infront of them, i dont mean that the hole bush should be transparent/blurr when you infront of the bush, but a small erea,

like this:
Image
within the red circle i drawed,

the erea that should be transparent/blurr is where the 3rd person model's head is infront, but only the player can see transparent/blurr, very logical, you should only see transparent/blurr when you infornt of the bush yourself,

i hope that you guys understand me, i tried my best to phrase it, but my english kinda sucks but i think xeno knows what i mean :P

its not jsut gameplay.. its reality. Your standing behind a plant (which doesnt cover up all your FOV) you should be able to see the otherside with the plant only blurring in your vision.

afcourse if the bush is very thick you shouldnt be able to see blurr/transparency/through it.

but you should be able to see a little bit blurr/transparency when you stand close infront of plants that doesnt have thick density.
