It isnt impossible but rebuilding the deleted MD4 is and doing that is beyond the legal agreement of the WET EULA and they cant to that. They would have to get the code for MD$ from someone who has it then port the game to the GPLeds version of the Q3TA engine. So you see the amount of trouble they have to go through.

oh and xeno what if the devs ask splash demage or activision for permission to do all those stuff?

they would have to purchase licenses for an outdated game engine, which isnt really a good invesment. Its either buy the liscense, or port to GPL. I dont think coroner would like either way. The best thing to do is improvise with what can be done now without making the models look horrible.

most important my arse, without the center how does the quarteback get the ball, or then, protect himself? 8)

And I really don't care about sports, all it'll get you is injuries, I don't see why we even have sports, entertainment, and enjuries, last I checked, injuries are not worth it, not to mention all the people thta have died due to these games.

Are you making the rules now Dragon? Oh, I'm sorry. I don't seem to know my place.

As for getting this topic ON topic, I'm all for it. But if this thread doesn't have relivant values anymore, I can just 659 it (Seeing that's more threatening)

659s apply only on people who are bickering or flaming each other.

So far there is still nothing that can be done about the weapon stance and position, as you should know, this game runs on an engine where the guns are normally at waist level by default so you cant expect much from it.

I sense a 659 comeing on soon...

it's just about the same for hip shots in CoD, another Q3 game. I'll look up more later...

basically, its stuck there because by default Quake only allows you to shoot from the hip.

Xeno,
do you think you can elaborate a little more on this issue?
I happen to agree with Drago. I would really like to see the anims modified to look more like the examples he presented.
So are you saying that MD4 might be able to solve the issue, but you're also saying that the positions cannot be edited?
Please, if you don't mind, clarify this I am confused.

Thanks,

Well I believe the engine ET is running on, it's impossible, or just way too hard, and since TC:E is a mod, original bodies are swiped from ET, and get a new paint job, so it would actually be up to Splah Damage to do this, and I don't think they care, just a thought though, I suppose it's modifiable.

Ok, back off topic, Xeno, you even know what the true term for "flaming" is? :?

For a one time poster, you should really build off your point.

Plus, your sentance formatting kind of reminds me of a specific character on these forums... :?

I'm sorry Dragonathon if I'm wrong, but did you purposely use another IP on a new account just to make your point a little more believable?

I apologize if I'm wrong but I have a right to be suspicious.

Currently all but one Quake3 engine based game uses MD3 mesh and animation system, it is limited to pervertex animation which means inorder to animate character meshes you have to adjust the entire limb with chances of seriously deforming the mesh which inturn forces you to revert. MD4, only used once and now is removed from the Q3engine code, is capable of skeletal animation in which a bone structure will reshape the mesh to follow its current posture thus making animation easier and more seamless. The problem with MD3 is, the mesh doesnt deform, if the arm was moved any further up, it would stretch, fold, tear and have stretch marks of the textures because pervertex animation doesnt deform the mesh it moves it piece by piece. if you want to know more about MD4, there are articles in Wikipedia and notes available in the idsoftware ftp
