They are holding the code because one day they will fix and release it and make millions, but only in their dreams. Reason they refuse to let others fix the game and release it for the public.

It would be nice to know the reason why the game is being left to die, was all of the code overwritten when making CQB? Licensing issues because two studios had a hand in its creation therefore full consent isn't given to give it to someone else to maintain? Being ashamed of what has been created years later? Copyrighted assets or code?

I cannot fathom why you would pour so much work and detailing into a project and then let time slowly kill it until the game is unplayable or the code has been lost or corrupted if it hasn't already.

I can't make it clear enough that this isn't asking for the game to be taken over by someone else so they can just slap their name on it or take the code and make stupid changes, this is a well established team with a well-known reputation just looking to provide any fixes to any issues and get it running natively in Legacy's branch of ET making it easier to play and easier to install.

Isn't the goal of making a game to get as many people playing it as possible? Even a decade later?

Had to come back, in hindsight I was heated and a bit over-dramatic because I don't want this game to completely die out to the point of being unplayable and that's the route we're slowly going.
