This is more so a question for the dev team of both TCE and CQB but I'm curious as to where you guys got the texture assets for the game. I've been hunting around trying to figure out where a lot of the devs have been getting their textures from 1997 to 2008 and since TCE was developed within that time it would be phenomenal to learn where you guys got them.

Many thanks!

Not an expert on the matter, but it's very possible Liquid (Now probably better known in a wider audience as Rotor Games, aka Sjors Janssen) actually made at least some portion of the textures himself.

Check Credits. Race, Tweety, Bruce, Liquid, Cor all for the best part create the assets themselves.

Im convinced ive seen a couple of the textures used in other games since so who knows. For example DayZ Standalone uses a few of the graffiti decals that TC uses if they are not the same they are surprisingly similar.

sorry to ressurect an old thread ;)

we were using textures from the game Kingpin which were released into public domain, after that a large set of Max Payne textures were released into public domain as well. there weren't any useful texture sites, the only ones out there were for 3d software and not useful so you had to go out into the street and take pictures which became actually possible because right around that time the first affordable digital cameras came out. I think Tweety made a whole lot and I know for sure HellOnStage made his own and he probably had the best set up.

I remember having to go back to place because the lighting was bad or the image was blurry or there was some annoy lens effect. I started taking 3-5 pictures for every useful thing I found, which was kinda weird because this was right after the time you would buy film that could do maybe 12-20 photos or something like that and you to get it developed in a shop.

here's some fun stuff of TrueCombat in real life, basically: https://imgur.com/a/sNJUsNp

Most likely, the majority of mine were created from images that I either had or either specifically took for the purpose or that were available in the public domain and often times pieces of those images rather than whole images. for example a material on the floor may have actually been the side of a wooden crate there was in a photo sitting on the front porch of a country store.
