StormLord wanted me to post this poll on the forums to try new maps.
You don't know how exciting a map can be until you try it....

3rd option - I do support 3d party mappers, but I think oldtowne is too large for the small amount of active players.

Cheese. When the server is full, then people should give it a try. Otherwise there is a voting system.

Please don't be quick to dismiss the map just because you have issue with me and my past.

Or.... You think it's too big, because that is lucretius considering its the same size dimension wise as Stad.

The past is the past and it is where it should be kept.....

I JUST gave my opinion about oldtowne as an OBJ map. I could have voted "No, I don't support 3rd party mappers", but that's not what I wanted to vote. Instead I tried to add an option which was a vote against the map and not the 3rd party mapper (you in this case). I dismiss the map because I've played oldtowne in obj mode and it was not "it". I also remember it was removed from the rotation after a while, because it was disliked by more than a few other players.

Anyway, I'm not even going to reply anymore as you only take things I say personally, even when you shouldn't. It seems you are the one who should keep things from the past in the past. Do whatever you like and I will see soon enough if the map is in the rotation or not.

@stormlord
I new old map I miss in the rotation.. depot.

Well the votes speak for themselves. It's only a handful of players that "Claim" they don't like the map because it's too big or whatever lame reason.

I bring up crap because every time I'm online playing you bring up crap. So what now?

Truth is, it's a nice OBJ map regardless if I made it or not.

I don't wanna this becomes one personal alt.flame.flame.flame thread.

Regarding obj depot map, in my opinion it's playable map even when the server is not full.
But... which one? Day or Night version?

We could even on weekly bases change the rotation maps and add one or two new maps and see how the community reacts.

Maps we/me didn't play long time:
- siege (http://www.truecombatelite.com/mapdepot ... =map&id=87)
- old school (http://www.truecombatelite.com/mapdepot ... =map&id=65)
- invasion (http://www.truecombatelite.com/mapdepot ... =map&id=52)

That's the ones i found on mapdepot and like.
If there is better versions then mapdepot's fell free to suggest it ;-)

So the voting was 29 in favor to like 3 or so against.

But apparently people can vote multiple times so who really knows what the results are.

All I know is the community will never flourish by restricting good "Playable" maps.

I don't really give a shit anymore. People will cut their nose off to spite their face.

If you don't know what this means.

The expression has since become a blanket term for (often unwise) self-destructive actions motivated purely by anger or desire for revenge. For example, if a man was angered by his wife, he might burn down their house to punish her; however, burning down her house would also mean burning down his, along with all of their possessions.

It's so sad.

My point is "Other" people in the community like the map. So just because a hand full of you refuse to use the map the community suffers?

WOW the very epitome of selfishness.

Depot: I like the original version of depot more than the modified(by dimstar) versions. IMHO the extension he made( where now one of the bomb spots is) is a bit off/easy to defend.

Siege: is nice IMO, but I don't remember it was played much. I only remember I played the 0.48 version pretty often.
Invasion: also don't remember this map was in any rotation very often, only in the more obscure map servers like piratebay
Old school: I do remember playing this one quite often, but mainly BC.

In the old days BC was all I played so maybe I just missed them because of that.

Maybe you should just dump a few maps in the rotation and see how the crowd responds. It's not that we really have another obj server to go to :P Just make sure it's not TOO easy to vote for a next map. Currently it's like 50/50 to get a vote to pass on your server?

But again, just to be clear: these are all my personal preferences.

I like
urwald (in spite of most ppl h8in it;) and
werk_ost

but I m happy with any map

maybe enable map voting (the /callvote map obj_example still works when the rotation is *i-need-a-broader-vocab* up and no refs arround)

also u couldt put sum maps on the server that aint in the rotation, so we can vote those when we get boored of the standard rotation

about depot i think the version from the map depot shouldt be fine. (merlin just fixed the ways u couldt climb unintended roof)

from the 3 maps lord of storms named i d like invasion best

doing as much as i can to fix damn thing.

So far, call map vote (no next map vote) breaks the map rotation chain. Feel free to update me if I'm wrong on the subject :?

New maps gonna take in consideration and disclosure will be presented to community 8)
