silencers is the answer. TCe has some stealth elements,
but TCe isnt a stealth based game dude...

and therfore knives really have no use in the game - its not like youd end up with no gun with ammo at anytime since you can switch guns from the dead person.

Hey dude. Stealth is a factor though. Dude... surf's up! Do you always run and clomp around? Or do you ever walk to hide your footsteps?

Drago is right. Now military force or law enforcement team will assault a threat with a knife. They usualy carry the knife more as a tool rather than a weapon. The chances that you will really need to go knife to knife with an enemy is really unlikely - and if you had a gun and they had a knife the idea is to force them to surrender or get shot.

The point isn't that using a knife instead of a gun is unrealistic.
The point is giving players the freedom to choose how they want to fight.

If you don't like the knife, then don't use it (I never did).
Other people, however, might use it a lot.

Is it realistic to use a knife when your packing heat? NO WAY!

But you have to ask yourself....
Is it fair to take away the players' ability to fight as they see fit? :?

well if they use a knife only that means more kills for me - cheap and easy.

is it fair for the one that wanna play a tactical realistic shooter "wich the developers of the game claimed to be" when the gameplay is prettty much retarded like seeing enemies using a knife while your whole team is using a gun? i mean this game sepose to be a tactical shooter, modernday soldiers vs modernday soldiers, and not modernday soldiers vs Samurai's.

thats why, knife should be locked, and automaticly unlocked when all your ammo clips r empty.

Isn't there a difference between special ops and a soldier?

I think we're talking about two different things. It seems you're upset because you can't shoot someone running at you with a knife. And I'm talking about sneaking up behind people or around corners.

i understand u like stealth actions, so do i, but the thing is, developers are aiming for a hyper realistic game, u could ask them yourself if this is true, and what im trying to say here is that the ridiculous "knife vs gun" issue isnt going to help the devs reaching their the goal they r aiming for,

and if you really really like stealth actions, than i have a good news for you, devs r maybe planning to add silencers in the game, 8)

Lets take this to where it all started:

Doom, Wolf3d and Quake start the FPS hype
Quake II improves the design
Half Life is released
Counter Strike is made
----(here is the problem)----
people run around with knives and melee weapons against guns
----(here is where the problem gets worst)----
Quake III is released - big ass chainsaw
TC is made ----issues still persist----
Team Arena is made
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is released
TCE is in production ----old habits are still there----
Half Life 2 is release
Counter Strike Source

----------------------------------------------------------------------

As you can see, all the bad habits in games which many of us consider as exploits - bunny hopping, spamming, camping, etc - including this knife versus gun unrealism - all rooted since the very first few fps games.

We cant do anything about it, either we live with it and make cheap kills of those with knives or remove them from all future games.

You should keep in mind that many gamers just want to play for fun the way they want to - knife versus gun doesnt really stop anyone else from enjoying thier game time such that they cannot play.

supressors are in the game already. Maschinenpistole 5 Schalldämpfer, Avtomat Kalashnikova 74 Ukorochennyj Schalldämpfer. in handguns, the mk. 23 has been in development for some time, and was in tc.45
