Not being able to fire into a certain area because of where you are standing, even though you can see it and your path is unobstructed, is unrealistic and terrible for gameplay.

I don't EVER want to see that.


Though I do know what you mean by suvh a system, and if it is possible to actually implement such areas and limit what you can see from the areas (eg, green areas being able to see into white) then okay.

Oh, and yellow being able to shoot from, but not into? Are you saying that bullets only go out, and not in? Please. NO.

its not that you are obstructed, you can still shoot any where, however this method is simply to specify the ROE to be applied on which areas of the map. As I said, you cant shoot from certains zone - in reality you can but ROE applies to that specific area also. Since there is currently no such AI able to determine a TK from an accident, or a spawnkill by a spawncamper from a regular kill, the only way to do that is to specify certain locations on map where a specific ROE is applied. In spawn areas, any enemy shooting at you there would obviously be a spawnkill - in the game right now, as soon as the safety timer runs out, snipers will just fire away and you are dead - with this method, as long as you stay in the spawn area you are safe - however you cannot fire out into the open from spawn as that is an exploit and also technically against ROE as that is firing without proper identification of enemies. (exception to when they actually go into the spawnarea and they kill you, that is till spawn killing, but on your puls side if tehy are in the sapwn are, which they should not be in the first place as that is out of bounds from the mission, you can kill them while inside the green zone as long as both of you ar ein the greenzone.

Sure it may sound complicated at first, however we wont know how good this will actually work if we dont ever try it out.

I think the best bet would be a combination of concepts, having the "zones" xeno suggests and maze-ish exits from the spawn (A.K.A. cover that obstructs view)

I didnt really mean mazish obstruction but just some thing like say there is another building covering it or there is a door by the hallway or an intersection by an alley.

yeah, that's what I mean. maybe have multiple routes that lead straight out of the spawn, like snow, only adding a few.
