my lan server works great, but i cant seem to get custom maps working..
either they dont show in my list or northport just loads. Any way to do this? maybe a "/devmap xxx" command?

secondly I'd wish to have all teams have all weapons. How do i do this?

quick replies would be much appreciated, I have a lan party in 3 days... :S

u have to run a non-official server (sv_official 0) in order to use custom stuff.
you can load maps by either e.g. /devmap obj_xxx (with cheats enabled) or /map obj_xxx (no cheats)

in order to getr all weapons u have to use the allweaponspack and pout it in the tcetest folder.

are u using a seperate pc to host the lan server or are u trying to host and play ont eh same pc? if you have an extra pc for hosting u should maybe use a proper server.cfg. i can do that for u if u tell me what u need (settings,...)

now i seem to be able to do it, about half the time.

I did find that the /map command worked to get my custom maps up and running. but I have to duplicate them to the 'maps' file. this works with lan.

I also found that simply by having the zz custom weapons etc files in the right file, they would do their magic.

I might have a spare pc to host a ded. but I'm not sure of it. this way is the easiest I presume.

But I might be very interested in a custom cfg file someday. Now it's just 4-5 of us, so not really that taxing for my system.

besides from being dedicated(and thus be able to handle more clients), what's the benefit?(map rotation, isnt really needed in a casual lan party is it :p, we just play what's yelled loudest )

tnx for the answers. I can get it to work every time now.
even found a copy of one of my guests maps: crossing_foggy3, he'll be delighted :p
