I don't see the point on wasting so much money on a console.
The PS3 is gunna cost $700 (there will be a $600 one, but it has something taken out graphically, I can't remeber what), plus a decently sized HDTV cost around $600-800, plus guess how much the games (could) cost..... UP TO $100 A POP!
Umm.... sorry Sony, but I ain't buying! :x

or... you could wait 3 years untill the price drops,

but if you wait 3 years.. than you will only have 3 years left with the console before ps4 is gonna be released,

a console has a life duration of 6 years,

so its better to have it earlier,
the earlier you get it, the longer the fun will endure,

I doubt theyll make a ps4 just a few years after, they might want to sqeez out as much money from what they have now before spending more money to conceptualize and develop something new.

This is hilarious. Ill-informed people.

The PlayStation 3 is $500. You do not need an HDTV to own it, and still looks fine. It has no (zero) graphical downgrade from the $600 one, but the case doesn't have a shiny chrome stripe, a 20GB hard drive (as opposed to 60), and no 4-in-1 card reader (SD, XD, etc), and four bluetooth channels instead of six. Games will be $50 a pop, but Capcom and Koei (of all companies) has said that some of their rare massive samurai war games might be $60. EA and UbiSoft said they would like to try to make $40 games.

Oh, and no fee for online service. And it would be the most powerful computer available to non-government civilians if it were released in 2003.

And if you liked that GT HD footage, that was just PS2's GT4 in 1080p high definintion.

speaking of PC, ps3 its the same thing like a PC, its a power computer, you can go on the internet and stuff and download stuff,

oh and why are you hating on consoles so much??

didnt you know that arcade games were the first games ever made?
and arcade is the consoles ancestor,

with out arcade, no consoles... with out consoles, no pc games,

oh i could name tons of revolutionary console games that contributed the game industry, but i cant name any revolutionary pc games,

oh yeah 1 pc game i can name,

The Sims,

all the other games are the same, FPS, STRATEGY, RPG, some with more features than the other but basicly the same...
