Knew that. I did hear XSI wasnt so easy to learn and use, then again I havent tried it yet.

Well, it isn't that easy for sure. But neither is 3DSMax. The maximized compatibility to various engines and the price (=free) is a real advantage, though.

On the other hand, I might be biased because I became a real fan of Valve's Source engine. It' neat, easy to modify and still runs on older machines.

The thing is, Ive been using 3dsMax for 6 years now. I just havent got the new version yet. But Im getting to that. As for XSI, I havent tried it but I have seen screenshots of its interface. If I am going to learn to make games for the source engine, I have to learn that and quick.

Where's 2d concept art important in TC:E?

Is that for the grafitti you encounter on walls and crates?

Nope because this is photograph. Hehe. No, seriously. Dragon is talking about concept arts for playermodels, i.e. - many mods have those.

yes those, most game developers draw things on paper first, before they model it in 3D,

it would look something like this:
http://christessmer.com/sketches/galler ... 040423.jpg
http://www.ragingspaniard.com/gallery/c ... _staff.jpg

and all the fans can like see all the drawings that the developers made on a fan art/concept art page,

Concept art is used by the modellers for a rough idea on how they will maek their game avatars. However, TCE doesnt need those being based on real Police and Military units nowadays and also, it already has its models so no need for concept art. The future maps however, maybe.. just maybe.

So you see, concept art really isnt needed at this time. This time what TCE needs is more hands.
