Hmm.. didnt know that. But what im asking is does the real life differences of these ammunition make any differences in their damage and effectiveness values in the game?

The only weapon in 7.62 NATO is the PSG-1.

???I thought the AK-47 used it too along with the Terrorist Un-supressed semi-auto sniper rifle (forgot its name).

you mean zastava M76?

I think the reason was: at the time, the soviet union was still under the warsaw pact, and not part of NATO, so it chose to use that cartridge (it was '47, 2 years after WW2, I bet the warsaw was still alive )

Oh, the M72, okay. But my point was that you said that only the PSG-1 used the 7.62x59 Nato round.

That was my point. :P

Edit:

Oh the irony, I just realized how off topic this has become, lol.

the topic is reload or not. I say, not, until you have to. It ussualy takes one good headshot to kill and you dont necessarily have to empty a whole clip on someone. Only do it when you need to, especially for long games.

as a rule i always stick with a guy, so basically i don't need to reload often. we watch each others' backs and get a pretty even amount of kills. plus we're pretty much unstoppable unless there's a skilled sniper or grenade.

Staying in a team and not going solo is a good technique. Once, some friends and I teamed up in a triangle. We were all wielding AK's and were killing everyone from every angle. We held it off for the remaining 8 minutes until the round ended. In the end, I came in second with 13 kills, my friend in first with 20, and my other friend with 6 (He accidently TK'd 3 members :P)

do you want to continue these tactics conversation over at our forums. We do that in AA all the time, well most of the time. Even with people you dont know. We would move around in groups watcing each other's backs. Using proper breach-bang tactics, and proper urban tactics or MOUT tactics. If you were lucky enough to get into a server with decent players, your in for a really fun time playing AA.

IRL, in a tight CQC/B or Urban setting, where a realod could cost you or your squads lives -- you're wearing a drop harness on your main assault weapon that lets you drop your SMG, or Rifle and instantly draw your handgun in an out of ammo situation...

The harness lets your weapon hang in front of you where it can be quickly recovered and reloaded if necessery -- when you have better cover and fire support...

It would be nice if TC:E would make this fast drop and draw -- ie. the weapon change to your handgun a bit quicker....

thats the limitation here, in America's Army, if you have two guns with you, you can drop and draw your second gun. I you happen to have been issued a M9Barreta, you can quickly drop your empty gun and draw the pistol, ofcourse, at the start of the match, you have to make sure that all your guns are readied and are not locked. The dropping can also be used to share weapons with teammates.

Umm, for the first question way back when, I say if your clip gets down below
the 1/4th line, reload, your not going to be waisting any bullets because there isn't enough to really kill with. Find a good place to reload, reload and move, don't reload as you are going around a corner T_T.

I reload whenever I need to. Never in the middle of a firefight.

That's how I usually walk out victorious in most firefights because I use burst up close, and if I'm out of ammo for one gun, I pull out my Glock and land a round in their faces. :P

not much of a pistol person, so I risk it with reload, the pistols just get me killed.
