m-79 grenade launcher. u can also vary the ammo types. explosive, bee hive, maybe a flare for night maps?

the older 60s to 80s weapons could and proably are used by "terrorists" andother militant organsiations...itd fit into the game well proably...

how bout stale chimi changas as a poisioned weapon? :P

Yes!! ive always thought of a powerful one shot weapon, like a big rifle or explosive device, coupled with a light firearm.

well i decided to model it myself, mostly did so far, the tech sheets show a 5 meter kill range...doesnt sound right tho. http://www.diddybop.demon.co.uk/
just clikity the m-79 grenade launcher link. "effective cassualty radius 5 meters" for the HE 40mm . =( the counter of this weapon could be the M203. M-16 with the 40mm gren launcher below front stock.

well maybe have a potato/pumpin launcher as a BFG. =)

far as the moddeling, that was an old idea ive been slackin on modeling. i started that model to show a buddy my progies rendering abilitys. he did some weapons in maya.

It's very simple: the maps are simply too small, and such one-hit-kill weapons very often spoil the fun for most players, especially in games where you get in a longer waiting queue like TC:E.

Ever wondered why that type of weapon is that unpopular in other games? It simply isn't fun to empty half a mag and to have him near death just to be killed with one single shot.

i think only these 3 maps can use m79: hideout, hellz kitchen(when you're on the top near the pipes or rooftops), and hells harbour. maybe village but notalot of long unobstructed spaces. also consider the fact that if you fired a panzer at your feet in et, it would blow up, not like in aa where itd just bounce around. i wonder if the m79 was included, would it blow if fired at feet?

Most of the TC:E Level Designs I've seen represent contemporary urban settings; and HE, or Frag grenades, whether launched or hand tossed just wouldn't be used in these settings by any legally operating CT/AT Spec Ops team or any even marginally sane results oriented Terrorists...

The solid angles presented by architecture (called steridians) cause dramatic reflective and multiplying effects to high explosives that are very unpredictable; add to that the massive volume of ready made shrapnal in the form of glass, steel and masonry and you have a recipe that is more likely to flatten your team then any opponent.

A simple example: tossing an HE grenade at what would be a very safe distance in an open field in an alley will easily get you killed; most TC:E maps don't have the distances or scale to realistically potray the appropriate use of tactical anti-personal grenads as just six frag or HE grenades are typically enough to carpet bomb the main play area of any TC:E map many times over, or totally disrupt the architecture....

On top of that grenads due to their splash kill effect, and slow easy to follow trajectory that allows you to lob them over obstacles -- makes them unequivically the lamest and lowest skill weapon in FPS gaming.

Curtailing the power of grenades to magically 'shoe horn' them into a game where they have the lethal power of an exploding milk carton is even more idiotic. Put a realistic 'effect' radius on the TC:E hand grenades and if just one goes off on a map, most players in LOS of the det at the ranges on TC:E maps tha weren't killed would be too stunned to fight.

Per Level Design weapon allocation PLEASE, FPS realism of any flavor has seen far too much "Grenade Arcade" and sure as hell doesn't need yet another iteration of that kind of game-play with yet another paint job. This was widely disliked in most id Engine realism Mods, totally sunk more then half of Raven Shields audience (in addition to the assininely fast player speed)...

There is still plenty of room for things that go "BANG" to satisfy the boyish craving for drama...
