There is something TT can do though. That is to make an additional set of textures using the original WET sizes instead of the hires versions. This will greatly increase the download size but may improve ingame performance for some people. As for maps and poly counts and map download times, there is nothnig you can do - again legal issues.

id rather have that, high performance and high quality are both importent, the best thing to do is to balance those 2,

0.49 is high quality but perfromance is zero, nil, 0, thats why its very importent to have programmers in a team that are good in optimizing the system.

Well alot of people dont like large download sizes, look at the catastrophy of AA2.7

than those people probably prefer laggs over slow map load.
id rather wait a bit longer than having the chance to be disconnected cause of the laggs, and the laggs are horrible,

its better to have a slow map load with a clean start
than having a fast map load with a laggy start,

spawn lag can't be prevented. it's server overload. it's like when you crowd the entire mass of players in a hall, you're gonna get a ton of lag, because the server needs to know what everyone is doing, and exactly where everyone is.

They just have to fix the way players join a server. You cant just all of a sudden throw in everyone all at the same time. The so called WarmUp time isnt helping. instead they should just make the game start as soon as someone loads - yes they may get the advantage but it will prevent people from packing together and logging in all at the same time. Atleast 2 players should be able to start the game even while the others are still downloading or loading.

Just a quick question. How is adding an interface that shows your loading enhance how well your system runs?

He is saying that there should be a program that scans your computer and adjusts your game settings and system settings to improve perfromance - fact is, it wont - only a hardware upgrade will save those who are really in deep doodoo when it comes to perfromance. Its almost boxing day, prices are lower.

like i said i use 3 computers

1- is a computer with a AMD sempron processor
2- is a computer with pentium 3 processor
3- is a computer with a AMD 2600+ processor wich is pretty good and fast, but i still have laggs,

so you there is no need for a new hardware, the devs just needs to optimize tc:e

How much ram and what video cards? Processors mean nothing when you have a Intel extrema integrated graphix, or a geforces 420.

i use a ASUS 256 mb video card,

i dont have that much knowledge about computer hardware, but all i know is that im using a 256 mb video card

Well, simply having a 256mb video card doesn't tell us much.

I'm assuming that it's an Nvidia card, am I right?

[EdiT] Also, I think he meant how much SYSTEM memory you have.

i got all the requirements thats needed:
http://www.truecombatelite.net/content/view/18/32/
^thats the dev's advice of what you need to run tce^

so... i think its not the hardware, there is something wrong with tce, tce needs to be optimized, or something that can get rid of the lagg that appears evrytime you get in a server,

or it could be that there are some errors/flaws in the coding.. dont know im not a dev.

it lags when you connect because of a few things

1. hardware being at minimum/slightly above
2. standard ping trouble
3. command overload for the computer.

to this day, I have yet to see a map load that doesn't lag when every spawns. it happens in all the ET maps. it's because the server has to create the players, and when you have 10-20, it eats up power, causing lag.

I never have lag, maybe it is a operating system issue?
