GR is a first person tactical team shooter - thats FPTTS not just FPS - a whole different genre. Gears of War is a TPTTS (third person). Nobody can invent the way the camera in theg ame displays the game that is like saying someone invented the idea of eating. GoW uses wall hug because of the thirdperson view and the fact that it is on a console. In PC, wallhugging isnt necessary because it is easy for the player to just move the mouse to change the angle or what not. On consoles, you only have two thumb sticks and a bunch of buttons, as much as possible keep all the uneccessary user input out of the game to keep it going fast and give the user as many gameplay options as possible with the limited buttons. SImply saying wall hugging is a method that eliminates the need to change the view angle.

wall hugging is very useful and really functional, you would know that if you ever have played METAL GEAR SOLID.

this is pointless, inviting flamewars, and has wandered off topic hopelessly. along with length, this mixes to be a lock.

also, remember that gears of war, though it may have elements of other games (wall hugging, maybe, third person? grow up. you want a third person shooter, see here, is still considered one of the best games for the 360, if not all of the 7th generation consoles.
