I had CQB situation with tango right ahead of me. I fired first with shotgun (don't remember which one it was) and he didn't go down (???) but returned fire and killed me.

Similar situation occurred few times after which I decided to not use shotguns anymore.

On the other hand I have seen people killing on long range with one or two pistol round/s!?

That's just not right.

Shotguns should be deadly in CQB situation and pistols (as well as shotguns) need to have less accuracy and damage power on longer distance.

I use the shotgun exclusively, I have no problem dropping people from medium to short ranges. I even get lucky sometimes and kill and rather long ranges (it does take 2 shots tho).

Yes, the range on pistols is to long... as is the MP5 and Mac10 and UMP ect...

Interesting. Well, there is always possibility that I had experienced some lag which might explain why guy didn't get killed.

It's just that I got overall impression like shotgun has lack of killing power.

Since the last update, now I just set it to semiauto (if it's the MSG390 or SPAS12) and double tap.

TCE always lags for me (200+ pings), so I am pretty much forced to use the shotguns. Nothing is more frustrating than to shoot someone half a dozen times in the chest only to have them turn around and shoot you in the face.

So true.

Generally I'm happy with pings and lag while comparing it to some other games I used to play -> Ghost Recon, Vietcong, RvS, H&D2, FIFA, and so on.

I thought the problem was with the hitbox. Someone once said they were crap.

Suppressed MAC-10 makes a really good sniping weapon on single.

There are issues with the hitboxes most noticible when the target is in prone.

The problems with the MAC10 and other SMGs as well as the pistols is, all these weapons use rather low powered PISTOL cartridges.
The range, and DAMGE at longer ranges is way off.
As we see bigger maps this will become even more evident.

While talking about bigger maps - I can't wait for them.

Also it would be nice to have some more open maps where snipers could get some real usage.
