wow... it looks like the devs are approaching things very professional now...
just because you dont work full time but part time on this mod doesnt mean you cant approach things professional, you still can do stuff in a professional way,
the only thing the devs had to get rid of is that "its just a hobby" mentality.
if they start doing that they will make fast progress, and things will look even more better,

but anyways im really amazed by the updates... websites looks professional now.. very nice...

i have a list of intresting suggestions, also suggestions for P.R. features,
so not only will the devs have to work hard on the mod, but also the P.R.s, they have to manage to make this game more popular, but i'll post the suggestions after 0.49, i do hope that 0.49 has an auto-updater, so you can automaticly update small tiny bugs, and slight bit of changes,

IMHO 0.49 should be an infrastructure, so from now on each update will have a number like this

first 0.49 update: 0.49.001
second 0.49 update: 0.49.010

ect. ect. well you know what i mean, it also depens on how huge the update is, the bigger the update the bigger the version number,

afaik, I think that they'll do it as .49, .50, .51, etc, because they said that they would be only doing minor bugfixes and equipment upgrades from now on.

mmm .49... soo close, yet so far...

anyhoo, yes, the webites look awesome. when I saw the screens I couldn't close my mouth...

im not impressed with the models though, they still look ugly,
really unbelievable, after a long time the devs havent done any shit on the models yet, amazing...

cant believe that they think that the models are unimportent,
they are actually very represantative,
some game developers maks the models even better than the maps,
thats because models can make a game look impressive.

perhaps the devs could make some skins with different themes,
like 3 terrorist themed skins,

1-mercenery
2-civil millitants
3-thief/orgenised crime, type of look, you know those hollywood type of orgenised criminal, i mean like criminals wearing black, with a bonnet or a mask, gear should look like splintercell type of look, just black thiefy feel,
that would be cool

and let the community choose wich skin theme should be the official terrorist skin.

and the specops should look like frightning, they should look like they really gonna hunt you down, in otherwords, let specop wear maskes, like what traumahawk did,

i personally think that its more original to make the terrorist look like good guys and specop should look like EVIL

just think of the MATRIX, you see that the cops are the bad guys and the rebels are the good guys,

just think of that movie HEAT, where you get the feeling that the bad guys are the good one's and the good one's are the bad one's,

That is map dependent so it is up to the person skinning the map to change those. It is also better if all the camouflage actually worked.

WTF??? Models should be better then maps... Humm its cuz when u play the game you need to have a good environment so you can forget that you’re basically in front of a pc screen. And why should the models look that good ( there okay like they are… if you like it when the maps look like shit and u fell like ur playing doom1 then fine but this game is about immersion, gameplay and realism ). Anyways the player models are pretty okay, maybe they need some little changes but it’s nothing big from my point of view. I think the team made a dam good job and I also think that u should stop treating them like you always do, cuz they put a lot of time into this and they don’t need someone to complain all the time… Just wait for 0.49 to come out and then you’ll be able to say what u think of the mod, cuz now all we have is pictures… But anyway great work team keep on rocking…

We really shouldnt critisize so much because we do know that they worked hard to get TCE to where it is.

I would just like to say, in the Matrix, the cops arent the bad guys. The rebels are being chased by the cops because, that is what cops are suppose to do, the thing is, these cops are just people who got right in the middle of the conflict between the people of zion and the machines.

Only terrorists would say the terrorists should look like the good guys. If in fact they are using unorthodox methods to get what they want, then they arent the good guys.

Your point doenst stand in TE. Yet however in some other stories, like CnC, GDI helps people but at a price hence to the poor they look like the rich bastards they are. Nod on the other hand helps the poor with supplies and medication at no cost, but uses terrorism through chemical and biological warfare. So either way, both sides are heroes and villians depending on which point of view you are looking from.

Militant and mercynary is okay, ther eis no need for organized crime. You dont send in specops against organized crime, thats what SWAT is for.

thanks for the constructive comment,

well... what i actually mean by "bad guys should look like good guys, and good guys should look like bad guys" is that the bad guys should look as cool as the good guys,

most game developers are focused in designing the good guys and they mostly forget about the bad guys, and usually the bad guys look like shit because the devlopers didnt give any proper designing effort on the bad guys, and what i mean with that specop should look like evil is this:

http://www.truecombatelite.net/gallery/ ... ops_04.jpg

i had a few more example but couldnt find it in the archives, but on that picture you see that the specop is wearing a mask, and IMHO it looks kinda evil, it looks like they really gonna hunt you down, thats what i mean by making the good guys look like evil,

this concept isnt new cause a FPS game thats developed by dutch people called "killzone" used this concept,

see this picture:
Image

well they're soldiers that work for the government, and they look kinda evil,

and these are the rebels: (same killzone game)
Image

as you can see the rebels look kinda like the good guys,
i hope you understand my concept now,

and about that "orgenised/thiefy bad guys wearing black"
well i'll open a new thread about models, and i'll try to explain my concept.

Who ever said all soldiers who work for governments looked like good guys. In WWII, if you were german you would think the british are bad guys and vise versa.

they dont look fine...
they look cheap, and they could use some fashion updates,
and the specops could use some fashion updates too, i mean look at this specop:
http://www.truecombat.us/gallery/albums ... j_snow.jpg

thats like steve urkel from the 80's,
just let specop wear masks and a cool modern bulletproof vest, it will look awesome mark my words!!

its better to make them look gritty. Both of them. Its more believable if the specops armor shows some damage and the terrorists look like they have been rolling in mud and gunpowder.
