The server is a little f*cked up. From what I understand Diane cannot fix that because of personal issues.

hopefully I will be able to fix it soon. Sorry for the annoyance of the error message (refresh for the time being) and thank you all for being so patient. :-)

Make a Wepay for new hosting ? I'd certainly contribute to that.
Also, where is my TC shirt ?
I want a TC shirt,
make it happen plz

~~
I keep needing hours to find stuff on my harddrives and it was driving me crazy.

I had some 3D gloves laying around, couldn't find them, so I made my own.
When looking for the army clothes for our character, it took me around 3 hrs
to find. Last week I needed a certain version of my app, I knew the main page
was called blue.html , but still it took hours to find. Had a lot of gun sounds,
took me 2 hrs to refind them....It was really getting annoying....

Centralized everything by fixing the computer meant as a server, now in use
as the central machine where code, textures, materials, models etc. is now
stored. Also made some custom code, so if any file on that central machine
changes, it also changes it on the backup drives.

Really looking forward to launching the app as it will, partially, be connected
to Tango Down (for text and voice chat and player profiles). And of course if
that's integrated it's just a tiny step to finishing my 3D chat application.

What did we do for Tango Down since last update :
- Busy on the 'smoke' puff when hitting something, tried some tiny flying debris
when bullets hit walls, but it's not perfect in any way.
- Remoddeling M4 and AK with rails, so scopes etc fit better
- Still tweaking the walk, crouch and run cycles to oblivion
- Fitting walk- step sound has been found, still need more for more materials
- Grenade throwing is being tweaked, he still throws like a sissy
- Having trouble with the laurel wreath implementation, might just go with a simple bar
- Made new muzzle flashes, took me a full 3-4 days
- I'd say gun attributes (impact decal, sound, handling) is now at 75-80%
- Changed the anim for reloading , AK and M4 were exactly the same.
- Recorded a couple of minutes of map making for a tut.
- Modelled some pipes from scratch, no textures/uv mapping yet
- Fiddled around on the map I call 'The yard', it was the original
scene where I imported a lot of different buildings into to test. Still
have a lot of buildings that weren't imported and need to check out
which ones still aren't game-ready yet.

More updates later, lots more to do.
Will also try to get more video done for all you mappers out there.
If I got enough clips, I'll edit them into something decent.

Still haven't been at it for a year and 2013 isn't over yet.
Also, many unexpected things happened, like I never thought
we could have the same content library back, when we left
the sponsor for the original Tango Down game. Getting the new
library, searching it, getting familiar with it's content,
converting, all of those things alone took a real long time.
Unexpected things happen, that will swallow up some
time. But it's ok, every little thing that slowed us down
has had it's advantages or will later on, not only with
Tango Down, but also with other projects.

~

Wasted about a week getting all the contents off my harddrive.
Had to do it with a USB stick that holds max 7GB of data and
is slow as f@#<\<. Somehow my laptop only reads from the
USB that has ubuntu install on it (lolz operating under windows).
The USB devices with UDK and game design content are unaccessible
on this computer. Not having fun @ this, coz my harddrive is very
large ;-( Yay for copying almost a terabyte in pieces of 7GB....
Only thing this was good for is that I found a lot of things I
made and thought I lost.

Installing a few new programs while I have to reinstall the OS,
because Blender is irritating sometimes and would like to try
the Max-Maya-Motionbuilder-Zbrush suite. Don't get me wrong,
Blender is awesome for some things like converting models
and doing basic animation, but when push comes to shove
I'd rather have more powerful tools and less irritation.

Also spent a little time on prepping the new company and
repacking my old software so it can be sold easier.
More on that in another post.

--Dev update--
Went through the gun directory and found a lot of cool stuff
in the folder we used to put file formats in that we couldn't read
with current software. Added some new plugins to Blender and
now more guns have become available to us. Glad this was done,
this was the directory where the good stuff was hiding ;-)
Replacing at least 3 'old' gun models and adding at least 4 new
guns to the game's depository.

On the menu for the next 10 days :
-- Menu and HUD tweaking
-- Character Movement tweaking ( HA HA, no more silly dodge jumps)
-- Re-texturing some guns
-- Some coding on my app ;-)
-- Remodel at least 1 building on the Goldmann systems map while recording it for a tutorial.

(semi) FINAL GUN SELECTION :

SMG and assault
FN p90, Famas, AK47, Scar, Aug, M4, UMP45, Galil, MP5, AR10, Sig 552, Uzi

Sniper
Cheytac M200, Barrett M107, Wa2000, Fr F2, Alpine TPG1, M82A1, Remington SR-8

Hand guns
Colt python,Smith & Wesson .45, Walther p22, Desert eagle,Glock G18

Shotguns
Remington 870, Spas 12, Mosberg 590 + unidentified shotgun

Specials
Compound Bow, Knife

Grenades
Flashbang, smoke and blast

Had fun re-installing scaleform and Flash today.... anywayz
Here's a few renders of some of the guns we're using, most are
from the directory we 'missed' to evaluate earlier on.

Glad the final selection is made, sadly finding the new guns
means making new animation files too. I don't mind though,
the quality of the models is utterly satisfying

Thanks, but I don't take any credit making their mesh.
I did some retexturing on some and animated them, but that's it.
Full credit goes to their modellers.

Sure you can be a tester, keep watching this tread, I'll put a link
to the downloadable test version when its done.

Maybe you could get your own wordpress blog or website instead of turning these forums into your blog ; since your project is not directly related to TCE.

Maybe you should read the tread before posting ignorant comments

Quote:

A remake of TC has nothing to do with TC ?
TC maps have nothing do with TC ?
Remodelled TC map objects have nothing do with TC ?
etc. etc.

Let's not forget the name of the game if Coroner likes our soup,
but we haven't reached that point yet. (think Coroner will be pleasantly
surprised at the end result).

Haven't got anything constructive to add, then this tread obviously is not for you.
34K views tell me that people like this tread and what it's about. So, I'll just
keep doing my thing for the people who do appreciate it ;-p

Paul, if this work and therefore the topic wasn't related to the TCE, Diane had already locked, moved or deleted it.

If you want respect, start by respecting other people's work.

These screenshots you posted :

...come from a russian warez site. (not fastpic.ru, the actual websites using the image)
It makes me wonder where you got the scenes from, but even if you did buy them, I don't understand, when you decided to show them off on these forums and had to choose between:
A - actually loading them in 3ds max or whatever and make beautiful screenies
B - going to the authors' website and use their screenies
C - go to some warez site and use whatever they posted
You decided C is the way to go.

Furthermore the company who sells those scenes explicitly forbids redistributing them in an open-source or modifiable file format, which is just awesome for a modifiable game. (that's sarcasm in case you don't understand)

Next, you're not claiming you made any of the weapons models you posted, that's the least, but still you don't give the authors credit.
And once again, you were too lazy to take your own goddam screenshots, and just used the authors' ones.

I'll just post all the links myself in a next post if you're unable to do so.
Also, they come from dozens of different authors, so I'm really curious if you got all their authorizations to use them in a free game, but also in a commercial one, since from all your ramblings it seems to be what you're up to.

Finally, you keep mentioning a "team" working on "games", but you provide no information on either of those two points.

To summarize :
1 - You can't be bothered to make a website presenting your team and your games.
2 - You're too lazy to make your own renders and screenshots and use those made by other people.
3 - You show no respect for the people whose work you're using by not linking to them or even mentioning who they are.

Yet you want to be taken seriously?

Could you post here the links from where you said that screenshots come from?
