hey!

I'm posting here in the off-chance someone might be able to help, but this applies more to other games (CoD4 specifically) since I unfortunately had trouble with TC:E and had to uninstall it.

I very recently bought a new pair of headphones, higher quality and all, but i'm experiencing a problem with sound being inverted when i'm playing games: I'll hear people as if walking to my left while they are actually to my right...

I'm 100% sure it's not a hardware problem, as Windows detects the channels correctly and even test music tracks work pefectly, only cod4 (I wish I could test with more games but I don't have many installed) seems to be at fault.

Has anyone ever experienced something similar?

unless you cant test it with more games to confirm (and try to uninstall/reinstall cod4 as well). we'll need more info. which headset exactly(usb or not,..), which soundcard+ drivers/settings,...
there can be many things causing it, but i guess its just some game specific problem(reinstall) here.
also test it with your old headset/ speakers in cod4, if they work properly ur headset/settings might be bad.

and reinstall tce as well, there basically isnt any problem that cant be fixed, just ask if it doesnt work ;)

It's actually stupider(est): I'd been wearing my old headphones backwards for years (5+ years in SHT (Standard Human Time)) and was thus subconsciously conditioned to hear left-side sounds as people to my right... I can hardly even believe it, but everything seems to point to this conclusion...

I tried playing recently, it's absolutely terrible I keep trying to jump off the map in an attempt to follow the fighting sounds.
