Hello, a friend of mine has downloaded et_patch2_60.exe here. But kapersky detect a trojan backdoor with this file. Any reason ? Thank. |

false positive, nothing to worry about. thousands of people downloaded the patch from this (or any other site, checked its the same file) and everythings fine. tell him to make an exception for this file. kaspersky is way too sensitive when it comes to detections anyway

OMG ET IS A VIRUS ! ! 
Tell him to download it from a big website (like the 2nd link snakeS3K gave) he will feel more secure to say stfu to kaspersky. |

Be careful! ET is a game connecting on the internet! It is even sending some informations like your online pseudo, your selected weapon and your position on the map! Follow Kaspersky philisophy this to avoid to catch a virus: - Unplug your RJ45/Wifi adapter - Delete your C:\WINDOWS directory or do a full format - Turn off your computer - Unplug your hard drives inside your computer - Put the computer in a strongbox - Ask someone you have taken from the street to create a secret combination and to close the strongbox. Even you will not know the code. - Kill him and make its body to disappear (collateral damage, but the fight against viruses requires some sacrifices) For sure it's again a false positive... It is already shitty to have so many viruses in the wild, some editors can't help themselves to add some false alerts to make you feel more secure... "Kaspersky told me it has a virus, I didn't installed it, I stay safe" For sure, not letting you install any program, it is protecting you ^^ P.S.: A lot of installers connect on the net to check if there is a new version or for statistics purposes... By luck they aren't all trojans
